Not taking Oher (even though Crabtree was the right pick at the moment) looks huge.

At least we have 2 first round picks next year.

Yeah and we need an OT, possible a WR or two, maybe a QB, a pass rusher....

i absouletly, love the 2010 draft prospects.

at each of those positions.

at QB u got Bradford, Snead, Tebow and McCoy, and maybe Claussen

at OT, Trent Williams, Okung, Bulaga, Young, etc...

at Pass Rush, Kindle, Hughes, Selvie, Hardy, etc...

WR Benn, Damian Williams, Bryant, Briscoe, possibly Golden Tate if he declares.

overall i love the 2010 draft, even the CB's are good, Stoudamire, Robinson, Arenas, Lindley, Haden, etc...

he was hardly our "big" signing...

he simply was the low risk high reward guy that we decided to roll the dice on.

-9fA

so who would u say our big signing was?

Demetric Evans baybe!

Hopefully Boone steps up. If not there are some big name LT's still on the market. Levi Jones, Jon Runyan and Mark Tauscher to name a few.

There is a reason why they are available just like there is a reason why Marvel Smith was available. The Ravens passed on him becuase they didn't feel his back could hold up.

Everyone would have gone ape**** if we had selected anyone but Crabtree at 10. 20/20 hindsight is speaking now.

he wont get cut unless he is retired i think he can play as a backup hopefullt he doesnt retire andIMO we need to draft a OT next year

ehh, we needed a OT even after signing Smith, im not sold on Snyder at all, wish we drafted Oher now, especially after this Crabtree BS.

Really AB? I really respect your points of view so what if Crabtree signed on time? Would anyone still feel the same way?

The reason I bring this up is that no matter what we are in need of both ROT and WR position given injuries. If Snyder was healthy AND Jones, then we wouldn't be in such a pickle.

Well, this is the NFL and we have injuries. That is why quality depth is so important to maintain a championship level, let alone just try to play with good personnel.

IMO, Crabtree is still worth the pain especially if he gets signed before the season starts. If he goes into the season w/o, then of course he was a bad signing as no player is ever worth it after that. We would tolerate Crabtee if he's successful. If he isn't, oh the chit will hit the fan from all the back lash from media and fans alike.

If Smith retires, it certainly would be a set back, but not the end of the world.

Patience is wearing thin at all levels it seems.

i really hope Crabs signs, and then we get our Tackle in 2010, theres a few good ones in the 2010 draft, namely Trent Willliams, Bryan Bulaga, Russell Okung, Sam Young, etc...

But if Crabs doesnt sign, then we are screwed, we wasted the 10th pick on a punk diva WR, and we have nothing to show for it.

OF COURSE!!! It would set an awful precedent and I bet the frickin Cowboys would pick him just to spite everyone if he goes back into the draft increasing the tension in the 49ers/Cowboy rivalry. This would be the worst result, period.

All drama aside, I think he will be a 49er. I am like you about next year's draft. I really see us landing some needed positions in WILL, NT, OT, OG, S and CB. Dang, does it ever end with the needs. It seems every draft we are still needing!

Thanks again, Donahue! May the carnivorous sand fleas make there way into your shorts! We were that bad!

I hope Crabtree signs, he would add a dynamic part of the offense, a deep threat, and with him, Morgan, Jones and another young guy in 2010, we will have a deeper WR core than this yr IMO.

Absolutely! I know I would have. I still think it was the right pick at the time.

Now, if we hadn't sign Marvel, and went into the draft with only Staley, Sims and Snyder, maybe it's a different story. But at that moment in the draft, with who we had, Crabtree was the right move.

And why is that.... since we all know we needed a Right Tackle for our advertised run game or a Pass Rusher for our sicly Pass Rush.

I think Haden is a little overrated. But this draft coming up is a monster. And I was with everybody hyped about Crabtree but I wouldn't have been mad aslong as it was an pass rusher or Ot they drafted instead. but I was hype over Crabtree

The Marvel Smith problems including skipping today's walk-through and tomorrow's Dallas game (as reported by Barrows) means Alex Boone will be on the 53 man squad unless he goes on another carhood bender. Go Buckeye! Go Niners!
