I wouldn't be so confident!!!! Offense hasn't showed anything!!! The rams have every chance of keeping this game close if we can't score.

Like it or not, given our offensive philosophy almost every game is likely to be close.

I expect the Niners to deliver a severe whooping to the Rams on Sunday, but certainly don't assume it will be easy. They've probably had THIS game circled on their calendar all year, they knew they'd suck so rivalry games are what they currently live for. I can definitely see a possible scenario where the sneak a win against us, although I think after this last weekend Singletary will have his guys prepared enough to keep that from happening.

I agree, we will definitely not blow any teams out with our philosophy, even the worst teams, unless they prove me wrong.

if we go into this game thinking it's a win in the bag we're going to get our asses kicked plain and simple. now, i don't think that will happen, but it's ridiculous for US to be saying things like we're going to just roll over the rams without issue. we need to focus, not look ahead to atlanta
I don't think anyone is overlooking the Rams. I think most here are not looking past the Rams, just intent on beating them by a large margin.
By all accounts this should be in the bag. The Rams are among the 3 weakest teams in the NFL, and most of their starters, which could not be starters on 30 other teams, are dropping like flies.
It is true that weak teams can be dangerous. But if the 49ers are not a fluke, then we should beat them by 3 or 4 touchdowns, and I bet our defense chimes in at least another touchdown. If Raye calls 60% run plays, then I don't know. But I would use this game to get the passing game in sync. It's pretty obvious that Raye did not trust the passing game late in the 4th quarter against the Vikings.
49ers-35
Rams-6
PS-I don't want Nedney to see the field except for extra points.
Who's gonna do kickoffs then? U know who i never wanna see? I never wanna see andy lee on the field, except to hold the ball for the kicker.

will not be surprised or perhaps expect lets say were up 14 to run run and run some more to be satisfied and let the d do the rest of the work

for once i would love to end this conservative crap and go for the kill.

I hope this is true, but during their respective runs both of those teams presented very dynamic offenses that our current squad would be very hard pressed to match.
I like it that we have smashed these teams into oblivion (see Hasselbeck, M.) but wouldn't expect us to blow anybody out -- including the Rams.

Amen brother. Wouldn't it be nice to watch a game and be able to relax at the end?

The 49ers aren't good enough to take anyone cheap. They need this game. Especially after last week. Smash them in the mouth.

Some are realistic, but most of them seem to think they have an actual chance of beating us or keeping the game close...
kinda feel bad for them
Never sleep on any NFL team.
especially in your division!!! Go ask the Cards and Hawks

This should be the game we tune up our passing game. I respect the rams because they are an NFL team, but they aren't very good and if Bulger doesn't play they are even worse. Our defense should have a field day and get picks and sacks. The offense should have a chance to attack the rams through the air and use this game as a prep for the Falcons.

very interesting
here's a quote
Quote:
Teams know that if they shut down SJ, we won't win. Until someone else steps up and begins to play out of their mind, we'll be this. Because right now we're not playing as a team.
our run defense ranks 4th, I think we can handle SJ
For sure. I know it's a new week, new game and all, but if we can make Minnesota's rushing attack look average we can handle the freaken Rams.

I really hope we don't loose this game.
The niners minus gore have not been very good.
