What makes a "TRUE" 49ers fan?
Anyone who likes the 9ers and are logging on to this site. Year after year, month after month, day after day.
If you come to this site and share knowledge or atleast an oinion makes you a true 9er fan. Hell even the guys who just linger and read are true 9er fans.
Whether we all agree on certain players or decisions we are all here wanting the same goal to be achieved. Even though some live in a fantasy world and don't think we can do no wrong.
Krizay bro, your response reminded me of nhap, lol does he still post on here or did he change his name? Or did he jump ship wit nolan?
Nhap use to crack me up
He "retired" and had his account banned. Yeah, he was pretty funny while the Nolan train-wreck was in progress, But it got a little old after Singletary had taken over and had the team believing and winning some games.
Gotta admit he was pretty clever for a bit then it was the same bla bla but still would make me laugh from time to time! He got himself banned!? Yeah I remember when sing had the team moving nhap was praising nolan for his legendary status of the hire of sing and starting praising jed and the beloved yorks as well lol. Crazy crazy nhap

According to Niner Talk, it's the amount of posts you make talking s**t about Alex Smith.

Now that's just fricking brilliant! Evidently, Billy is so bent by his hatred for Alex Smith that he thinks the Niners have approximately 6 billion fans.

I became a fan really young. I was born in '84 and between '87 to '90 I watched the 49ers battle teams like the Giants, Redskins. They would play the Eagles and such. They won the Superbowl in '88 and '89 and my father said he remembered very well me liking the team because of the local teams around Jersey they would play.
I became a fan because of Roger Craig. Seeing his runs and how much he was talked about long side Rice, Montana, Lott..etc.
I like when people call me a front runner. More so I can show them how much time, energy, money, and passion I have put in for a front runner. More so then the homer talking shhhhhhhhh.
I've went into Giants stadium and into Philly to watch my Niners play. On that alone I earned my stripes.
You have earned the "True 49ers Fan" Stamp of Approval.
I salute you!

If you disagree, tell me how YOU determine who is or who is not a "true 49ers fan."
A.) A "true" fan is someone who...
B.) Someone who is "not a true fan" is someone who...
a true 49er fan is someone who rides with the 9ners thru all bad, hoping there is good on the other end. but so confident you know its there. someone who doesnt hate the raiders, but still talks smack about them being our retirement home. and who although might not like a player support them while there putting on that red and gold. Knowing joe montana and jerry rice will always be the best ever. I dont know i have a terrible day after we lose, and grat when we win. Last but not least jumping on the net everyday to find that 1 peice of info that gets you thru the day waiting on the season.
So, a true 49er fan can't hate the Raiders? WTF? and, its... "Niners, or 49ers" not, 9ners...

I'd say a "die hard" fan is slightly different from a "good" fan, which in turn is slightly different from a "true" fan. Yea, they all overlap, but there are a few distinctions.
To me, a die hard fan is one whose emotions on a Sunday are governed by the 9ers. 9ers win? Good day. No matter what else happens, it's still a good day. 9ers lose? Bad day. Same scenario.
On the other hand, a "good" fan is a fan who's really knowledgeable about the team and the sport. Good fans are also usually positive, and don't rip on players and coaches even when they do badly.
The distinction between a die hard fan and a good fan, to me, explains a lot of the 'zone. We're all die hard because we live on a 9ers fansite in the middle of the flipping offseason, but not all of us are "good" fans. Not all of us know a lot about the team, and not all of us are positive about the team. But that doesn't mean we don't care about the 9ers and don't get pissed when the 9ers lose. You can be both a die hard and a good fan, but you aren't necessarily both.
Then you got true fans...to me, being a true fan is about loyalty. All the Lions fans in Detriot right now are true fans. All the 9ers fans who've stayed for at least the past 5 years are true fans. Being a true fan really doesn't have anything to do with being positive about the team, or even knowing anything about football. A lot of times people on this site will accuse people of not being true fans b/c they hate on Alex Smith or something...but the "hater" isn't being disloyal, he/she is just not being positive. You can still be loyal to the team while bashing it, it's the same way you can criticize the president but still love America. It's a different thing.
To me, you don't have to have anything but loyalty and love for the game to be a true fan.

A person who sees who they were, are and still say the 49ers are their team.
I cant stand the people that were 9er fans in the 80s and early 90s, then they switched to become Dallas fans, then New England, and now Steelers.
