Evans is being brought in for depth. Not as a starter.
Hey alright ANOTHER depth signing....
When are we going to see some starters getting signed?
When you stop whining about it.
I'm trying to be patient about it, but I'm beginning to wonder...

we have no closing power on any of these f/a....
this is so lame. we had the cardinals linchpin to success, as well as what could have become the difference in winning the division or not next year. we had him in our building, and we didnt just write the check. why would you bother flying a guy up here, and then letting him go?? what, you thought you could offer a little bit more than the cards and win him over? i would have been like "29 mil? done. just sign here. you can fly out of here, but not unsigned"
you can't force a guy to sign a contract. All you can do is make your best offer and hope he accepts it. You can't blame 49ers brass for Warner not signing a deal. He obviously prefers to be in Arizona.
You don't work in sales.

can we stop looking at DEs and start looking for Nose tackles and Right tackles?
Thank you.
It's often overlooked but a solid Offense can contribute on the other side of the ball even when they are not on the field.
Case in point the '99 Rams. They were not all that an a bag of Cool Ranch Doritos, Defensively. But that Offense was so potent that the Defense fed off it mentally.
Yeah the Defense could use some help but our worst unit is by far and away our Offense. I'm sick of seeing nothing done to rectify that problem on the Line.

If we don't sign a tackle in free agency, you can bet your bottom dollar we'll be addressing that need in the draft. The team is well aware of the hole there. And don't forget we've got young and developing players there. We'll be alright.

Hell no. Screw the draft.
How many Linemen have been drafted over the last FIVE years?
I understand more than most that it takes time for Linemen to "get it", but five years?!?
We need to get a solid RT and now. Forget trying to turn JJ into Filet Mignon. He will always be a crap sandwich. We need a lunchpail type that will play when they hve minor injuries instead of languishing on the bench. The only way to fix the Line NOW is to go out and get the best ROTL available in either FA or RFA. A guy like Newberry. It's too bad his knee was so deteriorated. he still went out on the field and kept his guy off our QB.
I'm tired of seeing our QBs' get demolished at the snap of the freakin ball!!!
No matter who it is under Center.

Besides Justin Smith they're all backups and only start on this team by default. How about getting some players that make plays for a change. But I guess that's asking for too much.

It's also too bad he's a center, don't you think?
When JJ is healthy, he is a good tackle, no one can deny that. No one is denying the fact that we should sign a lineman, but it isn't as dire as everyone makes it out to be. As long as Barry Sims isn't starting, I'm not that concerned.
QBs'.

I wasn't saying that Newberry was a Tackle. I'm saying that we need a "Newberry Personality" at the Tackle position.
Someone who comes to play, will rip heads off on every down and won't let minor sprains keep them off the field.
JJ is a freakin pantywaist. Because a s far as I am concerned, what good does him being a good Tackle do us when he's on the F'N bench all the time.
And YES it is that dire. If it weren't then the Line would have been fixed over 4 years ago. But I guess you don't mind watching our QBs' get killed. Should I name all the QBs' that got killed over the last 7 seasons before you get the seriousness of the problem?
It's pretty F'N simple. Fix the Line= More success.
Foreget it=QBs'.
Four of them two seasons ago.
