We enjoyed him and he was a staple for Sunday afternoon prime games, Super Bowls, and NFC Championship games.
Pat Summerall, also known for his voiceovers, passes away at the age of 82.

He also called golf (especially the Masters) and NBA games as well for CBS.
Thoughts and respects?

Been long missed because Joe Buck proved he is just one big homer.

Will miss Mr Summerall. Remember him and Madden. My favorite combo announcers/analysts.

Summerall is enough of a legend to justify two threads, one in the Lot and one in NFL Talk. Goodbye Pat.

I remember growing up in NYC in the 50's and he was playing for the Giants.
Very classy guy - was excellent w/Madden.

+2
I've seen threads of the same in different forums that end up being merged.

I'll remember his voice clearly for the rest of my life as he called those great battles between The Niners and Cowboys back in the 90's. Hasnt been the same since, and probably never will be. The team of he and Madden set the bar pretty high.
