Worst sports injury of all time was Sabres goalie Clint Malarchuk getting his jugular slashed by a skate on live TV. He drops down on his hands and you just see blood shooting out on the ice in spurts. it took the cameraman a good 5+ secs to realize whats going on and cut away.

He only lived because a team trainer had been a Vietnam vet, and knew how to hold his vein shut until paramedics arrived. Later he said his only thought was that he needed to get off the ice, because he didnt want his mom to see him die.

Where Sean Locklear is from is like 45 minutes from me. I heard he is a real nice guy and sucks to hear/see such a horrific looking injury.
