Rams agreed to terms with LE Chris Long on a four-year extension through 2016. Although details are not yet available, FOX Sports reporter Jay Glazer characterized the money as "huge." Long, the second pick in the 2008 draft, has panned out unlike many of St. Louis' pre-Fisher and Snead selections. The 27-year-old Long's sack total has increased in each of his NFL seasons, and he topped out with a team-high 13.0 in 2011. He is an excellent player and getting better every year. They are smart to pay him.

They are going to have a vastly improved D this season. I'm not worried about them - yet.

They have a long ways to go to prove themselves as an elite defense.

Quinn needs to stay healthy, Finnegan needs to not have knucklehead moves in game like fighting with Andre Johnson, and Jenkins isn't proven at all, he can't stay out of trouble. Long and Laurinatis are there best players. Brockers needs to prove he wasn't a one year wonder so to speak at LSU.
