I feel like Dennis Green right now. "You want to crown his @$$, then crown him. If we ever get a chance to get a good qb we'll let him of the hook!"

Why does this bother you? You have had your say and got zero support.
That's that.

It bothers me because niners fans are so closed minded. It bothers me that niners fans have forgotten teams used to dread playing us because of our offensive fire power. It's amazing to me how a player who has 1 winning season in his whole career, becomes irreplaceable. If everyone is happy with the mediocre quarterbacking job that has been going on the last 7 seasons then that's fine. I must be on Alex Smith webzone and not 49erswebzone. I want a better qb that's all it doesn't have to be Garrard, just a better qb that can take advatage of this great team we have in place. No one on here argued with actual numbers. All I got was a playoff win (team accomplishment) and injuries. The same people that disagree with me would probably rate troy aikman, Trent dilfer, and Brad Johnson ahead of Dan Marino because of the superbowl wins.

Signing a QB with a history of injuries, with no knowledge of our offensive system, or chemistry with the offensive starters on a team that went 13-3 that's looking to continue building on a strong year is not a wise move.
I could understand taking a look at him if Kap or Tolzien went down with an injury, but our team is best served allowing our QB's to hit the ground running going into next season , another year of the same system will greatly benefit the offense

Is everyone on this thread still so drunk from a winning season that we cannot see things as they really are? Last season was last season, its over we have to move forward like I will from this thread. Our team has to improve on what we did last year and upgrade a few positions, mainly qb if we want to win superbowls. Hell the ravens won a superbowl and didn't re sign their qb. Why? Because they knew deep down he wasn't the true reason they got there and won. They knew that even after a superbowl victory, that they still needed to improve. Even though it didn't work out the way they had planned, I applaud their efforts in trying to get better and not getting caught up in the emotional hype.

Firstly, you are being equally close minded. You have one opinion. Others disagree. That doesn't make you right and them wrong.
This isn't the Alex Smith webzone. This is the 49ers webzone. But some people on it have always got very emotional about Smith. In a negative way.
The Alex Smith thread is just awash with people who want to criticise Smith, and would replace him, you get the impression, with the waterboy. If there is a reluctance to go into a detailed discussion here, it is probably because posters have been through it all before a thousand times. The issue of starting quarter backs has been very divisive here for years.
On the subject of Smith, whilst his previous career has been problematic for all sorts of reasons, I don't think you can, with credibility, describe his performance this past season as mediocre.

This is my last post on this subject for real, I wanted to leave on a positive note. I hope you guys are right and I am wrong, I truly do if that means our niners are winning. I like my boys to win a certain way, because that's what I grew up watching. Even though this past season and style of winning took me awhile to get used to,I'll take my niners winning any way possible even if it includes Alex. 1. Go Niners!!!!

Lmao!!! You use the Ravens as an example!?!? Even though most of the players say that if they would of kept Dilfer they could of won multiple super bowls!?
That was the ravens biggest mistake ever!! Way to use that as an example
Again Garrard sucks, he is tim rattay.
