Gotta have a WR that fits our system. WR is really a system important position. With the few elite example of guys like Larry Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson and co, who will be good in a back yard or China, or any real NFL system. Picking up a random guy and hoping he'll do well in our system is foolish. Mike Wallace is good with how Pittsburg plays. But he is a down the field deep threat. While we do take shots time to time that is not our stye or offense. I think he would be a bad fit in SF. While a guy like DJax would be a great fit skill set wise.....maybe not locker room wise however. But I'm more just talking about style of players. I would say not trading is our best bet.
But for the sake of the fun and argument of this thread. If we traded for someone it'd have to be a WR. In a West Coast offense you want a speedy make you miss type of player. We have a few possession types on staff already in Crabby and Morgan. We could use a big body and red zone threat. But I'm thinking speed and make you miss, not necessarily run by you but get you some of that all important YAC. If perfect fantasy land if we can sign Dwayne Bowe as a free agent, giving us our red zone threat.
Then I say we try to deal for Percy Harvin. He's young but an injury concern, versatile, talented, can do returns come out of the backfield, solid enough locker room guy. But he is not the face of the franchise either so he could be dealt for the right price without upsetting the Minnesota fan base.

can you explain how 5'10" 175 desean jackson is a fit and 6'0" 199 mike wallace isnt? they both bring the same skill in speed

I wouldn't want either. I love Alex's play-style, but he's not going to make those deep throws consistently.
I'd rather have a guy who will have five or six 12 yard catches that move the chains on a consistent basis, then a guy who you have a chance to hit a 70 yard strike once a game.
