Archie Manning laughed when he heard @RobLowe said Peyton will retire, "Noooo...he ain't retiring. I think he would've told me." #NFL32

Why?
All this, plus....now you retire on top of your game. Very few can say that.

totally agree, have been thinking this a while now and wouldn't be surprised at all if this actually comes true. he's done what he's going to do in this league, at this point the only motivation he'd have to stick around would be to pad his records but the risk isn't worth the reward at this point - I know I'D retire.

Pretty strange story.
But Lowe is probably right.
It was the same when it started leaking out in august that Manning was out for the season. At first people were accused of spreading wild rumors. Then it came out that he really was going to miss the season. Actually, first it came out that he had neck surgery and would miss "some" time. They didn't admit that he was going to miss the entire season for a while.
The point is, everything that's come out of Indy so far has been a lie and a cover up. So don't assume that just because they are denying this story now that it's not true.

Flashback to Irsay saying Manning would be a Colt next year if he can play, yet it's clear by their moves that they don't expect him back, so either he's going to retire or Irsay lied.
