I think we'll get to 10 wins, but I'm not expecting 13-3 again. We play the tough AFC East, and then have to face Green Bay away and New Orleans at the Super Dome. Not to mention likely improved Bears and Lions teams.

i pretty much agree with OTC here, but I think we'll be better too, assuming we stay relatively healthy and sign some of our key free agents. we might not win 13 games again, but we could win 10 or 11 and still be better overall--especially offensively.

Going to be funny when the Rams sign him for like 7 million a year and give him a lot of power and then win 6 games.

Fisher is a better coach than we give him credit for, but not as good as the general public makes him out to be. Should be interesting; I'd prefer Fisher not be in our division

Fisher is a good coach. BUT how many years was he at Tenn and how many playoffs were they in and how many superbowls did they win?

To my recollection - they played in one SBowl in all the years he was there. I'm not concerned at all. I'm interested in who they hire for GM.

I think Fisher is a great coach. Never won the big one, but his team was consistently good despite turnover and rebuilding. I think that he maximizes his players' talent, particularly on defense.

Hope he chooses the Dolphins

Dan Pompei of the Chicago Tribune is "hearing" that Jeff Fisher is leaning toward accepting the Dolphins head-coaching overtures. Yahoo's Mike Silver also reported late Wednesday that the Dolphins had the lead, though the Rams are getting their shot to woo him on Thursday. The Fins are said to be willing to match any financial offer Fisher is presented.

I do like Fisher generally as a person, and to my memory he did draft pretty well. Would be an upgrade at least compared to what the Rams/Dolphins have had in recent years. Funny I have not heard anyone mention Cowher 1 bit; I'm starting to think he's done for good

Jeff Fisher was the last of the coaches that could go 3 seasons under .500 and not have to worry about losing his job. Those days for coaches are over. He needs10 years at one job to be considered good. In today's NFL coaches get three years to show something. He will be lucky to get a .500 record in three years. For the amount of money and power he will want he is not worth it.

Cardinals plan to speak with Haley about return

Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt is expected to talk to former Chiefs coach Todd Haley about a position on the Cardinals coaching staff, according to NFL sources.

Haley, the Cardinals offensive coordinator from 2007 through 2009, was fired by the Chiefs in December when the Chiefs had a 5-8 record. Haley was 19-27 as a head coach and his Chiefs team won the AFC West title in 2010.

Haley and Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt have been friends for years, and Haley was offensive coordinator in 2008 and 2009 when the Cardinals won consecutive NFC West titles.

It's unknown what title Haley would have should he return to the Cardinals, but he likely would be place in charge of the offense again.

The Cardinals have not been nearly as good on offense since Haley left, but his departure also coincided with the retirement of quarterback Kurt Warner. The Cardinals have had four different starting quarterbacks since Warner retired.

When Haley left, Mike Miller was promoted from receivers coach to passing game coordinator. Russ Grimm was assistant head coach/offensive line and run game coordinator. After that season, Miller was promoted to offensive coordinator, while Grimm remained assistant head coach. He continued to have a strong influence on the offensive game plan.

Whisenhunt would have to create a position for Haley, which would mean either re-organizing his existing coaching staff or adding a coach.

Haley is fiery and emotional, and several Cardinals players, including receiver Larry Fitzgerald, credit Haley with challenging them to become better players.
Haley, however, can be an acquired taste, and not everyone develops it. Haley and Chiefs General Manager Scott Pioli reportedly had a contentious relationship, a factor that played into Haley's dismissal.

If Whisenhunt wanna so an improvement on offense and especially at QB, he should try to get Charlie Weis.

Fisher will make his decision next week

Cards give Rams permission to interview DC Ray Horton for HC position.

I'm guessing he's the "Rooney Rule" interview.
