Who will be the 2011 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year

With the first preseason game in the books, and with the regular season only about 4 weeks away, it is time to go on the record with your picks. Special note: the recent history of this award tilts towards linebackers.

The option order is posted in the order of when the defender was drafted in the first round. Prince is not listed since he is out for the year.

I am going to stick with my guns and say that JJ Watt is the winner. Should be a good contest between Miller, Dareus, Peterson and Watt for the award.

I am going with JJ Watt or Jimmy Smith!

You really think a 3-4 DE has a chance? He may turn out to be the best player, but he won't get the stats that wins that award. Miller, Smith, Peterson maybe. Sacks/ INTs wins that award.

I went with JJ Watt. I agree he may not have the stats this year but he will be the best defensive rookie. Teams will be wary of Brooks Reed and Mario that Watt will have favorable match-ups.

I don't believe there is a solid favorite. It's a toss up.
