If anyone is looking like a clear winner IMO in the first few days of the free agent frenzy, it is the Houston Texans. The Texans had one glaring weakness on their defense and that is their secondary. Signing CB Johnathan Joseph instead of Nnamdi as well as FS Daniel Manning makes a huge difference. With their offense plus Wade Phillips taking over at defensive coordinator, this appears to be the year the Texans finally make the playoffs.

They also had the best draft. -Wade Phillips is definitely contributing to fixing that defense right now.

I agree...I would have been happy with those two in our secondary...

No one in Houston has EVER said that. I do like what they've done in the offseason talent-wise, but I think everyone is underestimating the switch to a 3-4. That doesn't happen over night.

When you have Wade Phillips it can.
My best friend is a Texans fan and hes very picky and critical of everything in sports. He thinks it will work just fine. JJ Watt and Antonio Smith should be very good 3-4 ends. I think Mario Williams will be top 3 in sacks and Barwin and Reed can hold down the other side.
He said Mario Williams has dropped I think 15 pounds or so to convert easier.
