Theyre going to be tearing down the West Hall of the Convention Center and have already gotten the naming rights from Farmers Insurance for 30 yrs $700 Mil

What are the chances the Raiders, or Chargers move there

I think the top 5 teams are Chargers, Raiders, Jaguars, Vikings, Bills.

its probably going to be SD, since they cant escape Qualcomm, and its a short move. Maybe Al Davis jumps on it for a free stadium. he has no loyalty.

Jaguars have such a poor, small market in Jax. they need to move eventually.

Id really hate to see Minnesota or Buffalo lose their teams. Those are 2 of the best fanbases in the NFL. both have lost all 4 Super Bowls theyve been to, and have stuck by the team 100%.

Buffalo is probably safe because they bridge out to the Canadian fanbase, playing in Toronto every now and again.

Im just glad the Niners arent even in the top 5 anymore. were they ever realistically? probably not, but it looks like this Santa Clara thing is going to work out, so everything is good.
Thought I'd bump this after today's vote:

No tax money being used, just $195M in bonds that are getting paid back. AEG footing the bill for the whole thing. I already liked DTLA, but this is gonna take it to another level. This is GREAT for the economy of the city.
I would say the ideal team in the big picture would be for the Rams to move back to LA. Their are still Rams fans in the area and it would make the NFC West make more sense.

The Raiders would be another team that makes sense because like the Rams they have an instant fanbase and there is pretty much no hope of getting a new stadium in Oakland. Though I'm sure the NFL would much rather a scenario where the Raiders share a stadium with us and kill two birds with one stone.

Chargers I think would be successful too but they are far better off trying to get another stadium in San Diego. There is a mini rivalry between LA and Orange/San Diego counties along with the fact there is still a strong Raider fanbase in LA that can't stand the Chargers being division rivals and all.

Though I would imagine a lot of interest in the stadium since LA is an incredibly lucrative market especially if you know how to market yourself there.

Yep, a great way to fund a stadium in a huge city. AEG isn't going to let any team die either.

As a native Angeleno, I highly disapprove of the name. "Farmers Field?" Oh hell no. That's all I got right now.

Oh, and that location is an effin' disaster. That's already one of the most congested spots in downtown LA with Staples and the Nokia Theatre right there, and things are going to get three times worse now.

If there was a team to move there, the #1 candidate would be the Bolts. Even my brother is a Charger bandwagoner.

More importantly, Philip Anschutz (who owns AEG) is like a 35% owner of the Chargers. The writing's on the wall pretty much as to which team is that stadium's future tenant.

The LA football fanbase breakdown goes something like this:

50% Chargers
40% Raiders
5% Rams
2% 49ers
3% Other

I know a lot of rich Chargers fans/businessmen in SD and most of them are giving up their season tickets because they have heard the Chargers will leave town for OC or LA in 2-3 years if not faster.

That location's perfect. I think "congestion" is what they're looking for, and being that most events are going to be on Sunday afternoons, it's not going to impact most people.

And it's not lock DTLA is Manhattan or anything. The traffic isn't that bad at all.

hopefully, it's the Raiders. maybe it reverses the Niner's championship drought. i also wouldn't be opposed to the Rams returning for rivalry sake.

the Rams would be cool. Would help all the LA fans who now follow the STL version. I hate change like that.

Lakers play on Sunday almost as a rule, so what happens when November rolls around? Football in the afternoon followed by the another crowd right on the neck of that. There is public transit access, but I don't think it's capable of meeting the demands that are going to be put on it. Transportation access to that section of town is already spotty as it is with parking that's a nightmare and which only promises to get worse.
