i think that's really what is behind this. "People" (those making money on the league) are worried that a poor team would garner less playoff excitement and maybe not sell out or generate as much $, and they are probably really worried that such a team might actually win a game or two and TV ratings would drop. If that's the case, I wish all the writers and whoever calling for a re-seed would just say that. Using "fair competition" as the justification is BS.

we beat them in overtime b/c some of our big plays came back due to fouls...
if that wouldnt be the case, the rams were beaten big time.

yup. any decision goodell makes is all financial driven. no matter what he says to justify his actions at the podium.

all his "safety" BS. it's all because star players got hurt.
all his rules for "better competition". it's because he wants more big plays.

It should be the highest seeded teams from each conference that make it regardless of division.

i think they make some kind of rule if we just get s**t on and clearly look like we dont belong there, but if we win and knock out a "deserving team" i think they shut up about it.

This is why the 49ers need to lose Sunday. They will not only set their own future back, but bring mass decay/atrophy to the entire league's integral balance.

good the nfl needs to be shocked right now, I hate Goodell he is fvcking everything up. If you dont like it maybe shuffle the divisions again dont change playoff formating that works because of one weird year.

i seen this coming since ALL the analyst started to b*tch about it

with the way the 49ers played in SD, we may not have to worry about winning the division. the Rams could go 8-8, make the playoffs, and then everyone will shut up about this.

the Niners have been so bad this year, it really isnt out of the question for us to lose both our final games. or at very least beat STL, and then take a fat dump against AZ in an easy layup division winning game.

i CANT root for the Niners to lose. im going to end up pacing the floor and hoping for a miracle playoff berth, even though i know itll make our draft slot awful for no good reason. this has been the weirdest season ever...
