One scout's opinion:
Eli Nachmany @EliNachmany
The more I look at the draft board, if Sharrif Floyd doesn't go in the top three, he could slide all the way down into the teens. #nfldraft
I think we need a DL early and I've been focused on Datone Jones or Jesse Williams at 31. Obviously if we targeted Floyd around #14, we'd have to give up some pretty serious ammunition. Is Floyd such a better prospect that it would be worth considering?

As much as I like him, I probably wouldn't. I think aside from such a weak top 15 draft, he actually belongs in the 15-25 range anyway. Still... as a 3-4 scheme, I like him a little less. Short arms. His best fit is inside in a 4-3 as opposed to a 5 tech in a 3-4.

id more likely deal up for star lolutleilei --though if he slips it is probably due to their being something to th e concerns over his heart....if healthy he can play end or nose in niners scheme

Rather get Sheldon Richardson. He possible could slip down a bit also.

Floyd was my draft crush but there's no way he'll be around late enough to trade for without giving up a future first. I think he or Geno will go #3 to Oakland.

I have him at number two right now. He's going very, very early.

Richardson is the guy who might be available in the teens. He's 3 1/2 years older than Floyd and not as explosive.

Is Richardson a better fit and more talented target than Datone Jones, who is even more likely to be available without having to give up additional picks?

Both players should be gone by 20, so I think the conversation needs to be about Short, J Williams, S Williams, etc.

If he slips down into the teens we HAVE to make a move up to grab him. We certainly have the ammunition to do it. And we should still be able to grab a stud safety to groom for the future.
