Late 4th to Late 5th round. If the 49ers need another quarterback to develop and one that could replace Kaepernick in a pinch, this guy is a possibility. He's extremely athletic, has a very strong arm, threat to run or pass, struggles somewhat with his mechanics, hasn't taken many snaps behind center, but he's got good accuracy as a passer and has a lot of potential. He goes about 6'2", 200 pounds, not a very big guy, but tough, hard-working, very intense competitor and possesses good character. He even has tattoo's.... I'm not crazy about them drafting another quarterback but he fits the system far better than a guy like Sorenson who some others have suggested. Since the 49ers wouldn't need him to start anytime soon, if at all, he's a nice prospect to develop and has all the tools to play in a standard offense as well as the pistol and run the read option. Let him sit and watch for 2-3 seasons and see what emerges.

honestly, selecting a QB in the 3rd round is a complete waste. too much talent in the 3rd that could potentially make contributions for us next season. no need to take a QB that high.

if u agree with what val says, as do i, then there's no need to waste a 3rd on a QB.

i don't want us take a backup QB until the 5th or maybe our late 4th

Good move or bad move by Miami for signing Moore to that contract? I thought it was hilarious. They paid Moore, a guy that's a decent backup, that much money and he hasn't really proven anything. He's won some games for some bad teams, but he's not a world beater. Then paying Hartline an avg of $6.5 mill a year? shouldn't they be worried about signing someone like Mike Wallace first?

And if you do the research, as that single story suggests, Matt Scott fits our system. His stock his rising. You still get 4 good-to-great quality picks ahead of him, so essentially, isn't it like a 5th rd pick? I know I'll get crucified for that one, but it is what it is.

God, it would be crazy to me if he ended up on the 49ers. Went to high school with him. Hell, my best friend had lunch with him just this past winter break. Hope nothing but the best for him.
