I said on another thread that Matt Scott will be a 3rd rd pick - of the 49ers. This kid can sit on the sidelines with a clipboard for at least a year and be just fine. He fits the new system of traditional pocket passer + read/option/pistol.

Agreed, I just think he'd be a great backup for Colin.

Projection from NFLDraftScout.com: 3rd or 4th Round
2. Matt Scott
Projection: 5th Round
3. Jordan Rodgers
Projection: 6th or 7th Round
4. Nick Florence
Projection: 7th Round or UDFA
Don't forget dat dere Colby Cameron in the 7th round, lacks accuracy, not a real strong arm but he's got a nice smile.

I said on another thread that Matt Scott will be a 3rd rd pick - of the 49ers. This kid can sit on the sidelines with a clipboard for at least a year and be just fine. He fits the new system of traditional pocket passer + read/option/pistol

honestly, selecting a QB in the 3rd round is a complete waste. too much talent in the 3rd that could potentially make contributions for us next season. no need to take a QB that high.

if u agree with what val says, as do i, then there's no need to waste a 3rd on a QB.
i don't want us take a backup QB until the 5th or maybe our late 4th

Tell that to Miami who paid matt Moore 8 million over two years to hold the clip board for Tannehil. Back up qb is important, if Baalke and Company burn the 94th pick on a QB I would be fine with it. Someone under contract for four years, value.

Good move or bad move by Miami for signing Moore to that contract? I thought it was hilarious. They paid Moore, a guy that's a decent backup, that much money and he hasn't really proven anything. He's won some games for some bad teams, but he's not a world beater. Then paying Hartline an avg of $6.5 mill a year? shouldn't they be worried about signing someone like Mike Wallace first?

And if you do the research, as that single story suggests, Matt Scott fits our system. His stock his rising. You still get 4 good-to-great quality picks ahead of him, so essentially, isn't it like a 5th rd pick? I know I'll get crucified for that one, but it is what it is.

lol, Scott got lit up in that game. We consider him an honorary Sun Devil for handing us the game.

God, it would be crazy to me if he ended up on the 49ers. Went to high school with him. Hell, my best friend had lunch with him just this past winter break. Hope nothing but the best for him.
