AJ Jenkins WR Illinois

It could be several years before we know if he was really worth a first rounder.

Or it could be this year, say he gets a 900 yard season??

Well that would be outstanding and I think some of us (myself included) would have to reconsider, BUT even then it's hard not to remember a guy like Michael Clayton who went from a great year one to a nobody for the rest of his career.

Man, what happened to that guy?? Came out the gate with a bang and just fizzled out hard.

looking at jenkins highlights i am impressed by how he extends his arms out from his body and catches the ball with his hands...very fundamentally sound
Excited with the pick (although I was upset we didn't take Hill), but when someone on ESPN said he was the "most polished receiver," I immediately thought of Rashaun Woods when we drafted him
So....most experts have AJ Jenkins rated somewhere between the 5th and 10th WR in this draft...

Well, Mike Wallace was the 12th rated WR in his draft class of 2009...

Here is the list of guys ranked ahead of him that year...

.....includes the future stars Brian Robiske, Kenny Britt, Derrick Williams, Mohamed Massaquoi, Juaquin Iglesias, and Lewis Murphy...

Just sayin'...

Cheers!

a lot of it has to deal with the teams those guys were drafted to, Cle for instance has 2 of those guys.

Oh so what your trying to say is that its better to draft a receiver that fits into your scheme rather than by the ranking of an analyst whom don't even watch coaches film. Yup thats right, they have to watch the games the same way we do.

Part of it was injuries. Michael Crabtree anyone... Can't play if your wheels ain't right. Good luck to Jenkins and Crabs on the injury side of football.
If Moss stays focused and plays this year, AJ shouldn't see much action this year. Mario probably moves to the slot on 3 WR sets.

He's a good pick if Moss gets cut or there's an injury to either Moss, Crabs or Mario. Otherwise, I don't really see him getting on the field often. Next year though, Moss will probably move on and AJ will have a year of experience under his belt.
Hi, just wanted to mention that no other wide receiver ever drafted too early or too late, or any, say ... outside linebacker ,,, who turned out to be a steal last year, has ANYTHING to do with whether or not Jenkins works out. Nobody knows. Just because the dealer is showing a 6 and you stay pat on a 15 doesn't mean you're gonna win.

nobody fits into the Browns scheme....teams without a decent QB will have WR struggles
