What position do we target in the first round next year?

A speed receiver would be nice. Someone with Ginn's speed, but who knows how to play wide receiver. It's embarrassing to watch our WR's not know where the f'ing ball is....

it just pisses me off how we have 3 f**king 1st rounders on that oline and yet the oline is complete garbage

We seem to have a much more competent set of eyeballs moving forward in drafts. It is definitely frustrating, though.

WR early and often. Drops are killing us. Ginn should only play WR in emergency situations.

The WR and CB need continues to show. We also need help in the interior of the O-line, but even if we had an All-Pro C or RG, Alex Smith would have more time for throws, but we'd still lack players who will aggressively go after the football. With the poor O-line play at times, there are still at least 3-4 big plays we leave on the field daily. If we connected on those plays, teams may be a little more fearful to blitz as frequently as they do. The weaknesses we have at O-line can be schemed around, although I still would like upgrades at C and RG, just not in the first three rounds. Any young receiver that we draft wouldn't have much pressure on them as they would only have to come in and be a deep threat/red zone target, as opposed to being a guy that has to catch 50 plus balls a year.

its hard to say what we will need after FA begins. a big play WR that has good hands or a good CB to pair with rogers would be nice

Part of it is injuries but a big part of the blitz issues falls on the center. He calls the protection, and Goodwin isn't getting it right.

The big disappointment, and the thing that is hurting the most is RG.

I presume one of the three you are thinking of is Justin Smiley, who was not a bad player at all. Injuries really dinged his career, but he was solid for about a 3 year span. He was the best RG we've had in a long time.

David Baas was a mistake because the team panicked after NE grabbed the player they wanted, Logan Mankins. Can you believe we were one pick away from him? Ouch!!!

As for Chilo Rachal, the team make a desperate move to select him due to a run on OL in the year he was drafted. I was disgusted by the pick.

The Niners have really stunk up the joint with their second rounders. The laundry list of failures is astonishing over the past decade.

The guy I am targeting is Wisconsin center Peter Konz (I think he is a star), but I am not so high on some of the other interior lineman. The team really needs to select the best player available, because this team will still have numerous holes after free agency. I also like Ben Jones of Georgia as a pivotman down the road. Two very good centers.

What's your thoughts on DeCastro? I know he won't be there, but do you consider Kontz to be on his level?

I too am among those who want to enhance the OL, but I still think we need a wide receiver.

If we can not get, by hook or crook, David DeCastro in the first, I would opt for:

1st Kendall Wright WR
2nd Ben Jones OC
3rd Kevin Zeitler OG
4th Leonard Johnson CB

or something along similar lines.
