49ers 2nd Round Pick
QB Christian Ponder, FSU
Probably gonna have to trade up, maybe even into the first round to do this... Perfect fit for our WCO. Very smart, strong arm, very mobile, accurate, and great intangibles. If he never got hurt he'd probably be the #1 overall pick. He's proved he's finally healthy.
49ers 3rd Round Pick
CB Rashad Carmichael, VT
Could move into the 2nd round w/ a great combine. Wouldn't be surprised to see us move up on this talent.
49ers 4th Round Pick
FB Owen Marecic, Stanford
You know what you're getting with him.
49ers 4th Round Pick
K Alex Henery, Nebraska
Could very well go in round 2, but if not, he's an impossible player to pass on. We'll probably never have a kick returned.
49ers 5th Round Pick
CB Buster Skrine, UT Chattanooga
1st round talent. Electric. Incredible instincts, footwork, and hips.
49ers 6th Round Pick
QB TJ Yates, UNC
Made great strides as a senior, mobile, strong arm, most likely just a backup.
49ers 6th Round Pick
OG Justin Boren, Ohio St.
A mean and nasty SOB. The opposite of Chilo and his girl voice.
49ers 7th Round Pick
RB Chad Spann, NIU
Runs like Frank Gore. Low pad level, won't go down, keeps legs moving, 3 down back. A pure late round gem.

cosigned, I LOVE your draft. I would have a hard time passing on Dareus though, for as much as OLB is a need I feel like Dareus is a can't miss player and could play anywhere on our DL+still get to the QB.

I LOVE Dareus as a 34 DE, but I have a sneaking suspicion that we move Ricky Jean or Ray Mac over to Soap's spot since they are better upfield penetrators which Fangio prefers from his 34 DE's. Thus making the pick of Dareus not as big a need.
But agreed adding Dareus oppo JSmith is deadly.

Yeah that wouldn't surprise me, although I consider Ray to be mainly a 3rd down guy. The thing with Dareus though is some teams consider him a potential NT also, and like the Packers use Raji at DE and NT sometimes(although Pickett is mainly the NT). He already got to the QB in a 3-4 D and he's a beast. Don't get me wrong I like Quinn and I like your draft quite a bit, I might even pick Quinn over Dareus myself. But I am such a fan of Dareus that if we were to pass on him it would hurt quite a bit haha.

I think it will be extremely unlikely for only one QB to be taken in the first round with all the QB hungry teams this year.
LMAO at having to trade up to get Ponder when in your mock, Locker, Gabbert, and Mallet are still on the board. All have much higher upside than Ponder who is a decent player but has a very limited ceiling.

how could the seahawks possibly pass up on a qb....whitehurst is not the solution....if retained hasselback will only be there another year maybe 2 max but doesnt mean he will be successful
---almost all the talent is atleast 2 years away from starting so they would be shooting themselves in the foot not taking a qb

Looks like a solid well thought out draft. The top 10 are all the familiar characters. Personally not buying into the strength of Ponders arm, but not passing myself off as expert either. Nice job.

I would cream my pants with the 1st 4 picks. Don't think the 2nd and 3rds are very likely though

Watt over Dareus.
Game over, man. Game over!!!
Sorry lost me there. Like that matters.
I also don't believe that Carmichael will stay a third. His skill set and Combine will drive him into the bottom of the second at least. He won't make to us in the third, but Dowling actually may because of the injury concerns.
I like Quinn and Ponder, but would rather have Kap given Ponder's medical history with injuries, don't want a Matt Stafford and Kap has more upside, but need more seasoning. Still, I wouldn't be mad with Ponder.
