MY Off season

I've not seen anything on a contract extension for cromartie, if someone can come up with that link.. He was going into his last season of his contract one of the many reasons the Chargers dumped him. TO's about as big of a cancer as Crabtree's work ethic, maybe TO can show Crab how to play through each play and show up on gameday.
Whatever the case Marvin wont be HC in cincy I'd assume taking a job with an old buddy would be high on his list. Ala Romeo Cornell in KC? This isnt a far fetch senario and would be a better situation then what we have..

Why not draft Mallett? We are missing a good young QB right, 30 tds and 7 ints each of the last two seasons in the toughest conference in ncaa isnt a bad thing.. I guess you'd rather see us draft the lefty from Boise?
Cromartie did not sign an extension. His deal was simply restructured, no years were added. He's a FA, and a below average cover CB.

Free Agency
QB Kyle Orton
WR Terrell Owens
OT Jermon Bushrod
CB Antonio Cromartie

We havent took much of a splash in free agency, Kyle, Terrell wont be big money guys. Bushrod will be medium money and Cromartie big money but after watching Vincent Jackson tear us up Cromartie is a asset to have against the bigger more physical WR's.

I would be very happy if that happend! What would make it better is another young veteran Safety and a star pass rusher added from free agency.

Hire- Mike Holmgren President of Fball Ops, George Seifort GM or Ast GM
HC- Gruden
OC- S.Young
DC- Marvin Lewis (assuming he gets canned)

Free Agency
QB Kevin Kolb or Donovon McNabb (trade or sign whatever)
CB Antonio Cromartie
LB-Lamar Woodley

Team is only a few pieces away the 2 that must be fixed are coaching and QB play. If we fix that now we're a 9-10 win team right now with everything else the same.

No reason to wait on a young QB when a couple vets like Kolb and McNabb will be available. Bring the WC O in here and let the playmakers we have VD/Gore/Westbrooke/Crabs/Walker/Morgan/Dixon make plays.

I believe this team can win immediately and should with a decent coach and QB.

Add a CB and passrusher to that and we would be in serious contention.

Re-negotiate or your out:

Re-sign
A.Franklin-a MUST
D.Baas-unless we have a guaranteed better plan at C that won't cost us a pick in the 1st 2 rounds
T.Spikes-still one of the top ILBs in the NFL give him 2 years
D.Goldston-if he takes a reasonable 2-4 year deal with low guarantees only
M.Lawson-he better come off his 8M/year demand or let him go
B.Sims-1 year deal, solid backup OT
Brian Westbrook-a good offensive coach can find use for him, he's still got something to offer what better backup for Gore could we find? 1 year deal
Travis Laboy-1 year deal, decent backup OLB
Ginn-has done a decent job as a RS keep him and hope for a better draft pick to emerge 1-2 year deal

Extend:
Gore-1 year left, give him a 3 or 4 year deal
D.Walker-3 or 4 year deal probably the best backup TE in the NFL
R.McDonald- very good ST player, good ratational DL 2-3 year deal
A.Lee-top 2 P in the NFL I know he wants a new contract lock him up for 5-7 years

Did you honestly just say make Steve Young the offensive coordinator? That man has never coached in his life
