i agree if we get a good ot.

Move up only for Okung at 5. BPA for next pick. There are a lot of better QB prospects coming out next year.
At what number are we drafting next year?
If Smith fails, probably top 10.

Why throw a wrench into it by drafting a QB? It ruins 2 QB's on your roster instantly. You ruin Smith because no matter how well he does, the future QB is waiting in the wings. And you ruin Nate Davis, because he will never get a chance if you pick another qb in a higher round. There will be QB's in next years draft, and by then these questions will be answered. If Alex does well, resign him. If he doesn't, you can pull him late this season and see if Davis can do anything.
I'm all for a Oline first round.
best OT available and Iupati
and what if smith fails? im not saying i want that to happen but its a possibility.

might as well get a qb this year then next year the franchise qb is ready to take over after sitting and learning for 1 year. clausen is better than whats available next year

you cant be serious
claussen is not even that great of a prospect bad attitude cockiness and maturity issues not great work ethic small hands (3rd smallest in combine history) next year they are 4 to 5 qbs better than claussen
and if smith succedes what do we do we have 2 qbs we might as well get an o line that is at least decent this year and if alex does good we dont waste a first round pick otherwise we will givve our new qb in a position to succeed really its a no brainer

LOL.
Maybe it wasn't such a great idea for the Yorks to get rid of Scot M. My guess is after the draft we are going to miss him a lot. This is going to be really bad.
I wouldn't pick that guy if he came to us at #13 or #17. I doubt I would pick him at #49. But the 49ers these days don't make sense.

Well they decided to get rid of the GM weeks before the draft.
I said at the time it wasn't a good idea.
