If you go to Florida's weight room they have the top 10 ten times of players that are there and have been there in all the running drills that player will run at the combine and Haden is in the top 10 in all of them. (kind of like a wall of fame that players can work towards getting there names on) He even beat Percy Harvin in some drills and is not too far behind him in the rest. So I wouldn't call him slow and I would love him at 13.

Brown couldn't even crack the starting lineup with Clements out. If you think we don't need better cover people then I don't think you watched TEs and RBs lighting us up last year.
TE's and running RB's are linebacker and safety responsibilities.
In fact, we probably got lit up by them because the quarterback had nowhere else to go with the ball.

I don't mind the first round but I don't like McCluster in the 2nd or Pike in the 3rd. I'd much prefer taking a player like Calloway in the 2nd to shore up that RT spot and then getting a safety or pass rusher in the 3rd.

I agree, I'd rather have Gilyard than Mcluster in the 2nd.

Agreed, it's the only position besides QB I would get angry if the Niner's drafted in the first.
You're only thinking about this season though. With a slew of upcoming contracts coming up the Niners are going to look to dump somebody elsewhere. This will be Nate Clements last season here.
If we draft Haden we draft Clement's replacement. Make no mistake about it we need a starting corner within the next 2 drafts.

Replace a top 5 OT with Haden and itll be a dream draft.
Tony Pike would be a steal, IMO, in the 3rd round. If Alex doesnt pan out it would be an awesome pick. BUt im hoping Alex does pan out.
McCluster in the 2nd would also be awesome.

I would hate this draft! No OT equals major fail!
BPA at 13 (including OT) and trade for Gaither by swaping firsts and another pick or give up a second plus something.

Not sure if we are just gonna dump our best CB next year as you are assuming. Remember there is no more salary cap so money isn't as big an issue as it has been before. Is CB a need for the FUTURE? Yes, but im thinking 2nd round we look to it. I'd rather look to bigger more immediate needs that need to be filled, OT, Pass Rusher, WR, OG, KR/PR.

This. We need Iupati as a guard. Not trying to convert him to a tackle. Consequently there is a need to factor in a tackle. Fairly early. And no qb.

Not bad...but I'm not convinced Singletary's looking at Iupati as his OT. Also not convinced Haden falls that far...he recovered well from his substandard combine 40-time. I'd actually rather go big-time OL in the 1st rd...best OT and then Iupati. That would finish the OL upgrade from the get-go. Then in 2nd rd, it could be CB or a guy I'm really warming up to, DE Tyson Alualu. He's 6-3, 295, a Cal guy, and has played in the 3-4 under Jeff Tedford. None of the guys who've played opposite Justin Smith have done much and here's a great chance to really upgrade the DL.
I like McCluster, but I'm a little concerned about his size in the NFL. He could get away with it in college, but I'm not so sure when he gets in with the big boys. Can't say I'm very enthused about the Pike pick...any QB drafted would create a situation where either the rookie or Nate Davis would have to go on the PS, and I don't see that happening. Instead of a QB, 3rd rd is good place for RB, CB, or DL.
