We won;t pass on Asamoah or Gilyard.
IMO, if Gerhart is on the board in the third, he'll be on our radar, too.

Harris and Bly are both unrestricted free agents. Clements lost his starting job mid season to Brown, who has no buisness starting

ya he does shut down fitzgerald and andre johnson the two best WR in the game he deserves to be out #1 CB along at spencer who will be a great #2

I would disagree with you Haden has only played corenr for a few years and is already this good imagine when he fully understands the position.
Going on that theory, then earl Thomas would be a better pick at 13, because he only played 2 years of college ball yet has more interceptions. He went from two to eight. Can only imagine his third year-teams would either stay away or he would have struck it rich. His PD is as much as a corner and he can and has force fumbles-he ooozzess bug play to me.
Plus he is more valuable cause he probably can play corner if we need to but would be a better at FS so that we can move DG to SS since he likes to play in the box and hit.
Also if we draft Iupati at 17 we better draft Charles Brown in the 2nd, don't like the idea of moving Iupati to tackle-he is not ready and our QB will be on his butt too much. I want to see what AS can do with no excuses. If the line play is better and he can't get it done-NEXT!
Then get a special team returner in the third. No QB for me.

WOW.
Talk about taking too much into combine numbers.
I'm not sure if you ever watched Joe Haden, but that dude is a beast.

Brown couldn't even crack the starting lineup with Clements out. If you think we don't need better cover people then I don't think you watched TEs and RBs lighting us up last year.

Hard to argue with the need for a top-flight DB in the first.

BTW-Never saw him play and he is not in this years draft, but for those who have seen him-what is the word on Rahim Moore of UCLA? Lots of Ints last year alon with PDs. Not sure about his vitals-size...speed. Just curious.

But for how much longer? Of course we want to see immediate tangible returns on our draft picks but you have to remember we won't see the fruits of this draft for a couple of years.

Unfortunately this is how the draft could pan out for picks 1-12. If this is the case, the niners get the #1 rated CB and #1 rated OG in round 1.
That being said, i would prefer to go with
CJ Spiller at pick 13
Brandom graham at 17, pass rush will help existing DB's.
Trade #2 and #3 to move up and grab Charles Brown, or Vladmir Ducasse.

im not against haden i acually like him clements and haden as our starters then when clemnts contract is up we refuse to resign him then haden can be our #! however we shoudnt not start clements as of now he is a top 10 corner in the league does he deserve that contract? No but as stated before he is not gettting all that money so we dont need to cut him and also untill he visably and consistantly becomes bad we should start him.
he did good last year and part of the reason our pass defense suffered was because he was injured

I'll tell you who I would love the Niners to grab in like the 3rd or 4th, Alterraun Verner....UCLA's captain on D.... he ran a 4.52 40, and is a proven player for the Bruins.

Although I have nothing against selecting Joe Haden, I would rather select Kyle Wilson. He gives us added value as a return man and I think we need "bang for the buck."

Versus Smith who was a great QB in the spread with no injury problems coming into the draft. I'll pass.
