I'm not a big fan of drafting Thomas there. Given how you have your draft going I'd rather see JPP or Graham there.

I think Graham raised his stock well into the first round.

If Graham was your second pick, would you take Nate Allen S USF in the second then?

Nope I like Pouncey a lot. Gives us an option at Guard or Center if Heitmann leaves at some point in the future.

I think a safety is easier to find later in the draft. Altho I wouldn't be opposed to Allen either.

Why not ? This guy is a playmaker, he gets to the ball, and he can cover. He could be our FS and Goldson the SS. Two playmakers in the backfield, doesn't sound so bad to me.

i agree with the 1st round picks....if a safety gets taken before we pick at 16/17 then it might be a defensive player like graham or spikes or iupati at guard.

the second rround pick will most likely be bpaat the return/specialist position

What if that BPA at RS grades out on our board as a 3rd round value ? Would we reach or take the BPA on our board ?

I don't think Scott will go into the draft thinking, at 13 I will take the BPA at OT, at 16/17 I'll select a OLB or S and then a RS in 2nd.
The way the draft fell, i had to pick the OT with #13, because the risk would have been to high that all the 1st tier tackles would have been gone at the 2nd 1st rounder. If two ore more of the OT's are available at #13, we can go BPA and take the remaining OT with the 2nd pick.

I agree that we need that RS, but we can't afford to reach for a guy who is projected in round 3 or a guy who can only be a returner and nothing else. You can pick a pure returner in round 4 and later, but i don't think you should take a returner, who can do nothing else for the team with your high picks.

That's how it will play out IMO....by watching how the board falls. If a RS is available in the first 2 rounds, presents good value and offers some versatility then we will likely pull the trigger but if not there are a lot of guys available in the middle rounds who could fill the RS role as well.

I like the Thomas pick FWIW and would be very happy with that selection.
If Spiller is on the board I don't think we pass him up and you have him going at #14 to a division rival in the seahawks. Spillerbrings playmaking ability art rb and kr/pr as well as he can line up in the slot in the spread. If the draft falls as you says it does I think we take Spiller and an OL with the second pick. We can still get a Safety in the 2nd or 3rd round.

If we take Spiller in round 1, the seahawks will take Trent Williams with their pick. The need an OT, too. That means all the 1st tier tackes are gone and that is a scenario we can't afford to let it happen

Although I haven't settled on any names yet your choice for ROT, SS, and OG are in the same order I have on my board.

Good try but we can do better than that!

Yes this would be really nice.
