It's hard to pass on Spiller. I know 1st rounders should come in a start but...dam...have you guys seen this guy run...wow....He'd make an instant impact to the ST. and a great change of pace back. Imagine...Gore, Crabtree, V.Davis and Spiller...wow. But the safe move would be to upgrade O-line and Secondary and look for a speed guy in the 3rd or 4th round.

I understand the criticims about taking Spiller first, but consider this.
1. Gore has been in the league for 5 years. He's missed games every single year due to injury. As backups we have the uninspiring Coffee and the unknown quantity in M-Rob. Spiller would be better than either of those two.
2. The average shelf life for an NFL running back is 7-8 seaons, meaning Gore has at most 3 productive seasons left before he's done. If we draft someone to share carries he can extend that and maybe make it to 10 seasons.
3. We arguably lost two games this year due to the return game fouling up. With a 10-6 record we would've made the playoffs. Would you be willing to trade a first round pick for a playoff appearance? I would.
4. But what about Josh Cribbs? His contract situation with Cleveland seems to be in the re-negotiating stages so I doubt he becomes available, plus all he does is return kicks. Spiller runs, can catch, and can return punts and kicks.

as noted in my original post, i assume that Bryant, Haden, and McClain are gone. Kyle Wilson is a HUGE REACH at 16, and Mays? Come on!
