If you want a dominate defense add two of the three best defensive players in the country. McClain can step in a take over for Spikes. Smart player and he can let Willis just play instead of carrying the radio. McClain is a great playmaking linebacker, and teamed with Willis gives us a scary duo for years. Good Luck running against us. Haden gives us a shutdown corner paid with spencer is a good tandem. I read a couple of places saying they are thinking of putting clements at safety so this could take of two spots. Ducasse is an underrated prospect who is showin the ability to stay at tackle. Could easily fit a right tackle for us. Stephens gives us depth with behind rachal and whichever free agent we sign. Selvie and Schofield givesus depth behind our three man rotation. McKnight offers a speed threat in the kicking game and catching the ball of of the backfield.

Basicall i think we can make 4 impact additions to the team, 1 big FA signing and then our two first round picks and 2nd round pick.
Basically i think the consensus will be get Mankins.
Now with the first 3 picks im thinking we go get a new RT, Pass Rusher and a Safety (not necessarily in this order)
Im also thinking we could add a mid range free agent veteran WR.
Thus the o-line should be much improved with Staley, Mankins, Heitmann and the draft pick, leaving all the others to fight for the remaining RG position.
This basically revamps the o-line, and should hopefully give us some added pressure on opposing QB's and a playmaking safety.

The one peice to the puzzle is how does the orginization feel about tony pasho's? Did they see enough to maybe make him a reasonable offer which would free up an early pick for say a spiller or mclain type of sexy impact player.

So you're saying we're okay at safety???
Haden is not a shutdown corner.

would ur 2nd round pick be a RT? that is a DIRE need, but adding two playmaking game-changers on each side of the ball works for me

Yeah, we HAVE to draft a RT with one of our 1st round picks.

I would say that Haden is the best corner in the draft and is easily has the best chance to be a shutdown corner. He has the size, speed, tackling ability, and his long arms help as well. I would say Haden is a shutdown corner. He just blanketed Julio Jones.
Also if Clements moves to safety, him and goldson are not that bad of a tandem.

Im down for building our offensive line, but outside of Okung there is really no tackle who is worth a top 15 pick. Maybe anthony davis or Bulaga but that is pushing it. I would love spiller but I dont think the niners will do that. And berry is a dream. Berry and Spiller would be the best but for Berry to fall that fall is complete luck

Here are the issues:
-Schofield won't last that long.
-Not a Selvie fan.
-Ducasse in the second? Scot should be fired if that happened. Ducasse is not a day one talent.

Just a technicality, but Bruce and Battle will not be "cuts".
Their contracts run out at the end of this season.

I like your picks except for the Selvie pick (more of a 4-3 DE and has had subpar 2 years after his "breakout" year). Good analysis, and I also like the idea of Haden as a future #1 corner (Tarrell Brown will never be better than a #3 and you're lying if you say otherwise. Future is important).
McClain has grown on me, and with the chance or him to learn under Spikes, he and willis could be the next Ray Lewis-Bart Scott combo, which I wouldn't mind at all for the next few years.

None of the "cuts" are cuts: All their contracts expire. They simply walk away in FA.
The team is not going to walk away from the first round without a RT. No chance. This is easily the most-glaring position of need, and the team will address it this off-season with a first round draft choice.
Expect the team to use their higher first rounder to select the best OT on the board, and then see who drops into their lap with the second pick.
