Berry
Spiller
Bryant
Haden
McClain

If one is gone go down the list and pick the next, each offer a skill set needed and are masters at their respected positions.

Totally agree.

I agree and I disagree. I agree that Spiller isnt a spluge because he would make a huge impact right away in areas (special teams) where we just suck. He would also be a great compliment to Gore. I actually see our rb's as average at best now and feel like we need some explosion there.

I disagree about Bryant. When you have as many holes as we do I just dont think you should take a WR in back to back years that high UNLESS there simply isnt another player close in ability. I consider Bryant to be a total luxury pick as I do McClain. That doesnt mean they wont be very good. It simply means we need more help elsewhere and players like Haden and Spiller make more sense.

I consider Haden in the same class as Bryant in terms of talent and potential at their respective positions, so I wouldn't be upset at all if we went Spiller/Haden. The idea is though, not to simply grab for need (or to just blindly fill holes) when you have better talent on the board at currently "non-need" positions. Yes, you should be smart (and taking Haden over Bryant would be smart if they were both available), but the basic concept should be to take the best talent available.
Every time that I see Gore being stopped for no gain, reminds me of how badly we need linemen. Even if we acquire Mankins (I don't think we will), I would still want to replace Snyder.

After spending a 3rd round pick on Coffee, is it needed now to spend now a top-15 pick on another running back? I'm not so sure. Is Spiller a once in a lifetime pick? I don't think so. Playmakers like him can be found in the latter half of the 1st round as well, see Harvin and Wells.

As i've said, if we're looking for a good specialist PR/KR, we can find them in 3rd and 4th rounds. Most likely, they would contribute as mush as Spiller would on offense - take this not as a dig on Spiller but on Raye's willingness to go with 2 backs and substituting out Gore.

Championship teams can make luxury picks. At some point you have to ID weaknesses and address them, which we have not. As far as Spiller, he may be great, but the dropoff production wise from a back drafted in the top10 and ones as late as round 3 isn't that much. I think Spiller is benefitting from Chris Johnson fever as he is seen as a similar back. But there has never been a back like him in the league, I wouldn't bet on another so soon, if ever. Tennesse was able to make what was seen as a luxury pick in him because they already had a great oline. We do not.
