1. CLE - Quinn has been looking better so they skip over the QB's and go for BPA - Ndamakong Suh DT Nebraska
2. TB - With Suh off the board, the Bucs go for the next best DT - Gerald McCoy DT Oklahoma
3. STL - This pick has to be a QB, so which one is best? Total package of physical tools and upside - Jake Locker QB Washington
4. DET - Made huge investment in Stafford last year. They need to protect that investment - Russell Okung OT Oklahoma St.
5. WAS - Whomever takes over this team is going to pick their QB of the future - Jimmy Clausen QB Notre Dame
6. KC - None of the remaining OL is worthy of this pick. Time to take the second best player in the draft - Eric Berry DB Tennessee
7. BUF - This pick could be a QB, OL or WR based on their needs. My guess is - Dez Bryant WR Oklahoma St.
8. OAK - The Raiders always go for the freakish athletes - Taylor Mays SS USC
9. DEN (from CHI) - Denver adds to their developing defense, take the best DL still available - Carlos Dunlap DE Florida
10. SF (from CAR) - Niners need some impact players on defense - Derrick Morgan OLB/DE Georgia Tech
11. SEA - The Seahawks take their QB of the future - Sam Bradford QB Oklahoma
12. SF - Yes, the Niners need an OT in the worst way, but who is the best player still on the board - Joe Haden CB Florida
Resign/Retain:
Barry Sims
A. Franklin
A. Brooks
Cut:
W. Harris
D. Baas
Ulbrich
M. Roman
A. Battle

I'll be honest, I wouldn't be happy with that. If we don't choose at least 1 Offensive Lineman with the 2 first rounders, I'd be upset. Personally, I'd be happy with 2 at this point, Williams from OK and Iupati from Idaho. Then I'm good with BPA from there.

Roman, Battle, and Baas are on the last year of their contracts no need to cut, Harris's contract ended this year as well.
Haden is very good but I doubt he could beat out Clements, and Spencer has been good this year. I don't hate the pick but I think we could get better value for it. Passing up Spiller would be very hard and although Haden grades out high, Spiller would make a bigger impact from day 1.
I think Morgan will be best suited to play in a 4-3. Honestly I could make an argument for McClain at this spot as well.

I'm fine with waiting for rd 2 to address Oline, you can get RTs and OGs later. I want pass rushers and playmakers early.

No, we need the best LT/RT avail with our first pick and take a guard in the second RD. We need to take care of the oline once and for all. Just think if we have a line and are able to run and pass.

Give me Spiller instead of Morgan or trade down. We can pick up an OLB in round 2. There's a bunch of different guys this year. Jerry Hughes, Morgan, Kindle, Greg Hardy, Ricky Sapp, Brandon Graham, Eric Norwood, and George Selvie just to name a few. But Spiller? Man IMO that guy has star potential, he's not too small and at the same time he has break away speed. He could fit in our offense and he can be a returner too.
I wouldn't mind trade one of those way back to lower first round though and seeing if we can pick up another 2nd. That's if we already have one of Spiller/Berry/Bryant/Okung etc.(basically a player that would be a steal). Unless a guy that's bust proof is on the table, I'm cool with trading back.

Exactly. Look around the league at good Olines and see how many RTs or Gs were top 10 picks. I would bet on that number being zero. The only reason a top 10 pick would be playing either of those 2 positions is because they sucked at LT. You can get those guys after the 1st round, it's very rare to get a dominant pass rusher later.

There's no way Cleveland passes on the top-rated QB (either Clausen or Locker) to take a d-lineman. They might try and trade down and settle for Bradford, but I really can't see them going into next year without the QB of the future/present on their roster.

I think we will have to really buid through the draft this year.Originally posted by pd24:Originally posted by TX9R:

Quinn is playing much better after his benching.

Hmmm, he had a great game against the Lions (worst defense in the NFL) a few weeks ago, and a played well yesterday, but he was awful against the Bengals just 2 weeks ago.

I look at this like his real rookie year...mistakes will happen and that team has 0 running game and 1 playmaker in Cribbs. Kind of like an early Alex, if he gets some weapons he can be good.

I definitely think Quinn could eventually be a good QB in this league, but I'm not so sure the Browns management think so...and with the recent relative success of rookie Qbs like Ryan, Flacco, Stafford and Sanchez, it's going to be harder for them to pass on someone like Clausen/Locker/Bradford (IMO).

Our 5 biggest needs:
-RT (elite right tackles are mostly found in the top 15)
-S (eric berry is a top 10 pick)
-RG (can be found in free agency)
-CB (can be found in 2nd)
-RB (can be found in 2nd)
