I asked 3 weeks ago if anyone wanted to trade for Pujols, and got nothing as far as responses went.

I wasn't planning on keeping him because I liked the upside of Goldschmidt, Scherzer and Sale for mid round picks. All 3 of them have top 5 position upside IMO. That and I knew I could get a player of Pujols caliber, or close to it, if I decided not to keep him with my 1st round pick.

Would I have liked better compensation? Absolutely!! But the only people with first rounds picks open to keep Pujols showed no interest in trading for him. So at least i got a little compensation from Crzy with the trade for a guy I wasn't keeping anyways.
