Just picked up Matt Ryan off FA

Am I missing something here? A guy in my league dropped Matt Ryan for Kerry Collins. I don't understand his logic. He isn't injured so I don't know what he's thinking. Same guy also dropped Brandon Jacobs for Fred Jackson. Needless to say, I got both! Good thing too, cuz my QB was Kyle Orton before I got Ryan.
