Jimmy Garoppolo fighting perception, looking to prove he can lead 49ers

By Sasha D. Robinson
Nov 24

Is the Jimmy Garoppolo who threw for 228 yards and four touchdowns the guy San Francisco 49ers fans were looking for or is this an illusion like last year? Since stepping back into the starting role for quarterback Trey Lance, who suffered an ankle injury in Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks, the 49ers have a 6-3 record. Garoppolo has thrown 15 touchdowns and four interceptions, but there is something different about him this year compared to his past couple of years with the team. Garoppolo does not look like the same player who lost a heartbreaker in last year's NFC Championship Game. Instead, he has the fiery presence of someone you want to follow on and off the field. By David Bonilla

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle had just one catch for 21 yards against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday night. It was an impressive effort, though. Kittle made the catch and then refused to go down 😤 @gkittle46📺: #LACvsSF on

He told Pro Football Talk that he picked the Eagles because he sought another championship. Suh had another option, though, admitting that he could have signed with the San Francisco 49ers. "Suh told PFT by phone after Sunday's 17-16 win over the Colts in his debut with the Eagles that his decision came down to Philadelphia and San Francisco," wrote Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. "Suh said that he was attracted to the 49ers because of the presence of defensive line coach Kris

By Kirk Larrabee
Nov 21

As good as the San Francisco 49ers played against the Arizona Cardinals Monday night, there's still room for them to get better, according to quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. It's hard to find much fault with how the 49ers played in their 38-10 shellacking of the Cardinals at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. After fighting off a somewhat slow start, the 49ers rolled over the Cardinals on offense while the defense held them scoreless in the second half, marking the third consecutive week they've reached that feat against an opponent. It was a performance many had been waiting for from the 49ers after an inconsistent start to the season, and Garoppolo had one of his best outings of the year along the way, throwing for 228 yards and four touchdowns on 20-of-29 passing. But even though
