Why Kyle Juszczyk believes wideout Mike Evans was ‘right addition’ for 49ers

LOS ANGELES — Kyle Juszczyk already is excited for the 2026 NFL season, especially after Mike Evans signed with the 49ers on a three-year contract.The Pro Bowl fullback was in Southern California for the Fanatics Flag Football event and spoke to NBC Sports Bay Area about San Francisco’s NFL free agency moves.“With the offense, obviously, you got to look to Mike Evans first,” Juszczyk said. “A true 1-on-1 winner on the outside, that has produced in the NFL for how long? I think that’s going to be a seamless transition. Just the right addition that we need.” Along with Evans, who has 11 1,000-yard seasons to his name, the wide receivers room also will include Christian Kirk, who signed a one-year deal with the team. Juszczyk believes the two veteran wideouts will allow coach Kyle Shanahan more options when drawing up plays for the offense.The 49ers already had Demarcus Robinson, who is in his 11th NFL season, but the rest of the group is young and much less experienced than Evans and Kirk.
