How Marquez Valdes-Scantling will help 49ers prepare for Week 1 vs. Seahawks

SANTA CLARA — The Seattle Seahawks provided veteran wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling with $3 million in guaranteed money when they signed him in March.Not only did the Seahawks flush that money down the drain, Valdes-Scantling ended up with Seattle’s Week 1 opponent.“It’s a no-brainer to come to a place where you can help out in all facets, whether it be on the field or off the field,” Valdes-Scantling said this week after accepting a spot on the 49ers’ practice squad.Valdes-Scantling might not suit up for the 49ers when they face the Seahawks on Sept. 7 in the regular-season opener.
