Brandon Aiyuk, Jauan Jennings absent from 49ers OTAs

By David Bonilla
May 21

In what will probably be the least surprising news of the day, wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk is absent as the San Francisco 49ers begin their first practice of organized team activities (OTAs) open to the media. While it's the first chance for reporters to see the full roster in action, Aiyuk is notably missing, as negotiations for a contract extension with the 49ers reportedly remain at an impasse. Also absent is wide receiver Jauan Jennings, who has yet to sign his $4.89 million restricted free-agent tender. He is set to become an unrestricted free agent in 2025. Biggest contract in 2025: 49ers' Brock Purdy or Cowboys' Dak Prescott?

By David Bonilla
May 17

The San Francisco 49ers are gearing up to secure their franchise quarterback with a significant contract next year. When that happens, Brock Purdy will become one of the NFL's highest-paid players—potentially even the highest-paid. However, sports commentator Rich Eisen predicts that Purdy's reign as the highest-paid player won't last long. When asked who will earn the highest average salary starting in 2025, Eisen explained that while Purdy might initially hold the top spot, Prescott's deal will eventually top it. "Oh, it's going to be Dak Prescott," Eisen said. "Absolutely, it's going to be Dak Prescott. ... Purdy is going to wind up the number one paid quarterback in the NFL. And I just don't think he will be by the end of the day because Dak,

The San Francisco 49ers have reportedly signed former USC offensive lineman Jarrett Kingston to his rookie four-year deal. The team made him a sixth-round draft pick, selecting him 215th overall in the 2024 NFL Draft. This leaves wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, the team's first-round selection, as the only unsigned 49ers draft pick. According to OverTheCap.com, Kingston's four-year contract is worth about $4.16 million. This includes a signing bonus of approximately $138,000 and a 2024 salary-cap hit of about $830,000. When asked about his pre-draft evaluations, Kingston said, "I feel like I am athletic. I think whatever like the ratings were, but I feel like I'm really athletic. I think my background playing all these different positions, like defensive and tight

49ers won't play international game during 2024 NFL season

By David Bonilla
May 15

The San Francisco 49ers escaped having to play an international game for another season. The Bay Area team won't be required to travel overseas or compete in Mexico during the 2024 season. The NFL has released its lineup of international games, and the 49ers aren't among the teams scheduled for long-distance journeys. San Francisco's last international game was in 2022, where they triumphed over the Arizona Cardinals in Mexico. Their prior overseas venture was to London in 2013, when they clinched a victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium. There was a chance that the 49ers might return to the United Kingdom for the 2024 NFL season. The Minnesota Vikings will host a team at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2024, and the 49ers are on their home
