The drama surrounding Deebo Samuel has died down a bit. Much of that is due to the San Francisco 49ers not granting his trade request ahead of the draft. The San Francisco 49ers announced that they have signed tight end Troy Fumagalli to a one-year deal. To make room on the roster, the team waived tight end Garrett Walston. Fumagalli was among the tryout players at the 49ers' rookie minicamp. Something noteworthy: The tight end's left index finger was amputated due to a condition known as amniotic band syndrome. Yes, they are entering the upcoming season with a second-year starting quarterback who played just 178 snaps last season, and the interior of the offensive line is uncertain, but the rest of the core remains.
