Earlier today, San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan addressed the media speculation that wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk might be in his doghouse. "No. It's not a doghouse," Shanahan said on KNBR before explaining that the second-year receiver's reduced playing time had more to do with him returning from an earlier injury and the emergence of Trent Sherfield. Shanahan fully expects Aiyuk to earn more playing time as the season moves forward. "I want Aiyuk to get that spot back, but Trent Sherfield doesn't make that easy," the coach added. "He has played at a high level. It's not personal. It's just about guys earning spots." After

The San Francisco 49ers entered Week 2's matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles without linebacker Dre Greenlaw and starting cornerback Emmanuel Moseley. Greenlaw is expected to miss four to six weeks after undergoing core muscle surgery. Moseley is inactive for the second consecutive game due to a knee injury. He sustained a shoulder injury during the 49ers' Week 2 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. After missing two days of practice, Mitchell's chances of playing this weekend appear to be slim. Also absent were defensive end Arik Armstead, running back JaMycal Hasty, and defensive tackle Kevin Givens. The latter two are headed for injured reserve and expected to remain out for a while. When San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan jumped on KNBR this afternoon, he was immediately asked if his team had put out an ad for running backs yet. Shanahan laughed and responded, "We thought about it. It got pretty dire there for a little bit." The 49ers lost several running backs during Sunday's win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Elijah Mitchell, Trey Sermon, and JaMycal Hasty all left the game with injuries. Mitchell returned, but only after the other two were sidelined. The team was already without Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson. Hasty is expected to land on injured reserve. Mitchell is dealing with a knee injury and has not practiced this week. Sermon is in the concussion protocol and has been limited during practices. The way things
