49ers' Kyle Juszczyk: 'As long as Jimmy's healthy, I think he's our guy'

Kyle Juszczyk is going to support whoever is lined up under center for the San Francisco 49ers. The plan is for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to be that guy when the team travels to Detroit for Week 1. However, San Francisco planned for the future, surrendering future draft picks to trade up to No. 3 overall for Trey Lance. The 49ers own a championship-caliber roster. Garoppolo has led the team to a Super Bowl before, so it's easy to conclude that the team's best chance of getting there again is with the veteran. San Francisco's Pro Bowl fullback joined the Ross Tucker Football Podcast this week and was asked about his team's quarterback situation. It's a topic that Juszczyk has grown used to discussing at length. Most 49ers players probably have. It will

There is a lot of speculation surrounding when San Francisco 49ers rookie quarterback Trey Lance will earn his first start. Jimmy Garoppolo is slated to start Week 1. However, the veteran has made it out of September injury-free just once as a starting NFL quarterback. It may only be a matter of time before Lance gets onto the football field. Bettors are hoping to cash in on Lance's ability to do just that. More money has been placed on the 21-year-old quarterback being named the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year than any other player. According to BetMGM, Lance has received 15.8 percent of the bets and 22.6 percent of

"San Francisco should be healthier on the whole in 2021, although it's impossible to project anybody on its roster to play all 17 games with any sort of confidence," wrote ESPN's Bill Barnwell in a recent feature for ESPN. The writer was tasked with ranking the NFL offensive weapons for all 32 NFL teams. Perched at the top of the list are the Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. At the bottom, as is the case with most rankings, are the Houston Texans. The San Francisco 49ers dealt with a historic number of injuries last season. Not only was it the most in the league, but it was also the

ESPN identifies two irreplaceable players on the 49ers roster

The San Francisco 49ers endured a league-high number of injuries last season in what was supposed to be a year dedicated to avenging their Super Bowl loss. Instead, the injuries quickly transformed the team's roster by Week 2. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo missed 10 games. Tight end George Kittle missed eight. The then-reigning NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, Nick Bosa, was done by Week 2. The team went on to win just six games, finishing last in the NFC West. The 49ers hope 2020 was an outlier. On paper, the roster is talented. Players have to stay on the football field, though, for the team to reach its potential. It's difficult to win without your best young pass rusher or your top receiving threat. It's a challenge to put the hopes of a season on the
