As Bryant Young enters Hall of Fame, Kyle Shanahan names one 49ers player with a similar trait

Bryant Young had an illustrious 14-year NFL career—all spent with the San Francisco 49ers. He will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan never coached Young. Although, on Saturday, he admitted that he tried to bring the former defensive lineman to San Francisco as a coach. The situation just didn't work out. Young served on the Atlanta Falcons coaching staff, but it was the year after Shanahan departed for the 49ers.
Shanahan does remember Young's playing days, though. His father, Mike Shanahan, was the 49ers' offense coordinator during Young's rookie season, one in which the team finished as Super Bowl champions.

The San Francisco 49ers' legendary defensive lineman, Bryant Young, delivered his Pro Football Hall of Fame induction speech on Saturday in Canton, Ohio. He thanked family, teammates, friends, and even his opponents in his heartfelt words. Young also shared a beautiful tribute to his late son, Colby, who died of pediatric cancer at age 15 on October 11, 2016.

San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch spoke with reporters on Tuesday, a day after signing star wide receiver Deebo Samuel to a three-year contract extension. Here is everything he had to say.

John Lynch: Trey Lance 'really just asserted himself' this offseason, seizing 49ers' starting job

Trey Lance spent last season as the backup quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, sitting and learning behind veteran Jimmy Garoppolo. However, things are different this year. Lance has taken the reins from Garoppolo as the team's starting quarterback. While there was media speculation that Garoppolo might eventually work his way into a quarterback competition, for the 49ers, Lance has been the guy for a while now.
