Trade targets

The 49ers could not have met the rams offer. We have no good young pass rushers. Who were we going to offer? Another 1st? Why would Cleveland take that vs what rams offered?

I would've thrown Lenoir in the mix. But I doubt the Browns accept that. Actually would've thrown in Lenoir and Mac Jones along with a 1st and 2nd round picks. Mac Jones would've been the best QB on the roster.

There are zero people that would take that over what the rams offered. Verse is a probowl level player on a rookie deal. Lenoir is a good cb, not a probowl level. Mac jones doesn't move the needle for browns.

Of course the Rams would still win the trade, but that's how I would've tried. If not, onto Kayvon Thibodeaux, Joey Bosa and so on.

Agreed. We need 1 more quality/veteran de.

I wonder if Joey bosa is done with football. Nick was alluding to it so we'll see

Honestly I think both Kayvon Thibodeaux and Jessie Bates can be had at reasonable prices. Lynch just gotta make the moves!!!!
Don't do it (Crosby). We don't need him.

Don't worry the Raiders won't.
K. Thibs is still on top of my wish list. Has been for awhile. Great for rushing downs. Not so great rushing the passer. But we do have one of the best DL coaches in the league that can probably get the most out of him.
He obviously needs to stay heathy and I doubt it would cost more than a 4th or 5th....maybe a 6th and a player.

Yeah the raiders 9ers rarely trade let alone a star player. It was said they turned down a higher offer for Khalil Mack. I wouldn't be interested in Crosby outside of a 1st and some change

The giants already (allegedly) turned down a 3rd from the saints. Maybe that's true and maybe it isn't but I'm pretty confident that if all they were looking for was a 4th, he'd have been traded long ago

Not gonna happen but what would you say if the 49ers traded a 2nd and mykel Williams for Jared verse and Watson. The browns would be free of the Watson contract by paying half of the $40 million dead cap. The 49ers would have verse for 3 more years before having to extend him.

Huh. Why would the niners trade for Watson and send anything back? I would not take Watson with Verse for a 7th rounder, unless they can cut him with no penalty, and even then he would historically have been a 49er.

And i thought his dead cap was still $130m. $40m in 26, then $87m in 27.

Not sure that's how the cap hit would work out but thanks for the input

Watson's contract is unique because it's fully guaranteed. There is literally no way around the contract, no financial magic trick. The browns are turbo f**ked with his contract. There is no way out, no matter what they do.

It will go down as maybe the worst contract in sports history (some recent baseball deals could be argued), but no question it is and always will be the worst contract in NFL history
