One bad game (and not even a game, a few drives) doesn't write the book on him just like if Collins had 3 good drives it doesn't invalidate the trash he's put on film.

West was decent last year and I expect that at minimum this year. Collins though.... Yikes.

that 2025 draft is looking like garbage...

Lynch went D-line heavy in that draft pretty much for Saleh. Then he bolts to Tennessee only for the 9ers to run a completely different system in 2026. They should've either traded up in the draft or traded the picks for a player. Cause these guys aren't looking so good in Morris's defense.

Yeah I think that's a big factor in the 2025 draft being a bit ineffective. vs KC which has had stability at the DC coordinator level for almost a decade or more.

Good news is that Raheem being twice failed HC really decreases the odds of him leaving anytime soon.

Our run D was actually vastly better when CJ West played nose. Like almost a full YPC better when he was in. I'm not worried about him. He has proven to be very stout vs the run.

Collins on the other hand has shown nothing and graded out poorly last year. He won't be a starter. That's reserved for Osa and West. Halton will probably replace West in nickle too eventually leaving Collins as a backup NT.

Lombardi and Cohn are the opposite sides of the same coin.

Both come across as smug, condescending, think they're smarter than everyone else etc

They just cater to different fan bases.

I think he was the plan at #3 but the backlash was so severe we gambled with Trey. Mac was supposed to be our Kirk Cousins. Destiny might come knocking…

Hes not the perfect fit for this system tho, Brock is. Hes better then Mac at literally everything except maybe the deep ball down the sideline.

The problem with drafting Mac at 3 was there is a Mac Jones in every draft. So much so we got a better version at 262 the following year.

Brock had guys injured too and accounted for 10 tds in a 2 game stretch when he was healthy. Mac isnt doing that.

Sure. But it probably won't be this year with him coming off that ACL

I disagree. He was mediocre as a pass rusher and the metrics agree. Setting the edge? Sure. But we could have found that from a 4th round guy.

The 11th overall pick needs to be a game changing pass rusher. Plain and simple. And he's no-where near that.

Let's give him more than half a season and see where he lands.

He didn't look good when he played last year

He did with regards to stopping the run setting the edge and rushing from the interior.

Probably. Difference there is an unknown variable showing itself.

Mac Jones is very much a known variable.

if you think Mac Jones last year is accounting for 10 tds vs Indy and Chicago you are lost.

Defense and run game would have to carry the day like in 2019 for that to happen and I just can't see either being to that level.

I don't know man but I think David Lombardi disagrees with all of you saying that he looked amazing last night. Does he live in an alternate reality? Just curious

Lombardi will glaze any and everything I wouldn't be surprised if he spun the York scandal as him trying to do charity work. Grant Cohn is the opposite and trash talks every rookie. If you want good reporting on the 9ers Matt Barrows is solid

Grant hasn't bashed any rookies though he's been praising Black and Stribling all preseason. I like his style a lot better. He keeps it real instead of creating excuses for poor play

I agree I like criticism, I really don't know I don't ever listen or read his articles, though I do like good criticism he's just douchey about it. Seems like a lot of posters were saying Grant was complaining about Stribs/Black draft selection and that Stribs can't separate
