Lynch needs to go get two more pieces for our run. Preferably an Edge and WR.

Literally no one is thinking that.

What would Thomas Jr cost us realistically?
I kinda like him as a fit to play the former Aiyuk role. Helps us now and in the future so it's a solid option IMO.
Think he will bring something different for us and ensure other guys end up being left open.
I think a 2nd rounder
Thanks man.
I would go for it. I think he is the right answer for now and the future, pairing him with Strib (and long shot but maybe Ricky) as Deebo and Mike getting older?
Brian Thomas Jr would be a bad fit here, he's a sloppy route runner which is a huge negative in Kyle's system.

Here are (6) combo player deals that would make sense for the #49ers
— Larry Krueger (@sportslarryk) October 29, 2026
-Trade w/Cardinals for DE-Josh Sweat/WR-Reggie Virgil
-Trade w/Jets for WR-Garrett Wilson/DE-Will McDonald
-Trade w/Dolphins for WR-Malik Washington/DE-Chop Robinson
-Trade w/Browns for DE-Jared Verse/WR-Jerry…
Here's a better source for potential trades we might do than old out-of-touch Maiocco.
Larry is unrealistic. He's more for entertainment than anything else.

They'll get a third if they let him walk. He going to end up getting 15-25 a year depending on how the season ends up. Niners have plenty of cap space though. Only 27 if he goes from 8 sacks/year to 12-15 it's a steal.
seems rosey to forecast him to nearly double his goodness; if he's 8 sacks a year, i'd pencil him in for 8 sacks a year

i am not a capologist, but that's only a one year thing, wouldn't they save a ton over the entire life of the deal?

I am generally not a fan of trading away draft picks for any reason. Even if those trades do eventually sometimes benefit the team who traded for any player in question. I'm more of a fan of shrewd drafting moves with late round picks. Case in point? Gracen Halton. A fourth round pick. A game changer. The 49ers found a kid who shut down an opponent's running game, sacked the opponent's QB, caused fumbles, recovered fumbles for TD's and generally caused havoc in just the first six games. Not only is Halton a STEAL, he's on a rookie salary. He's also healthy. So, I would rather use late round picks to find gems like Halton, or Brock Purdy. That is my train of thought. I'm not a fan of the Buckner trade, though it may benefit the 49ers this season. I'm certainly not a fan of trading away first round draft picks for any player, even if that player carries the name of GOD.
