The mid 2000s after the Attitude era wasn't really that bad, WWE was doing well but the past number of years they are really struggling with their talent and have either rushed guys too fast or given up on talent much too early. Reminds me of the mid 90s just prior to the start of the Attitude era.. it's a work in progress. I think WWE can become popular again but it's really up to them

Pretty much. They haven't created a new popular face that stuck since Cena, Batista and Orton.

And all three of those guys came into WWE at the same time, in 2002, when wrestling was still "cool".

quit bumping an old thread
I agree with what another poster said earlier, eliminate the 2 hour Smackdown and give an extra hour to RAW. Having a 3 hour spectacular with all your big names every week is bound to bring in big ratings.

However, keep Smackdown, but just cut it to maybe an hour now. Maybe, leave it on Friday or move back to Thursday. Have it be what Velocity or Heat used to be. A show with new and up and coming superstars along with some veteran talent along with a recap of what happened on RAW.

Also, get a LEGIT stable. I mean the new Nexus and The Corre are a joke. Secondly, what happen to managers? What more can get a heel over than a manager that can draw heat like Bobby the Brain or Jimmy Hart did?

WWE doesn't think they're in decline or desperate. No one is even remotely close to challenging their position in the world. It took WCW coming within weeks of putting WWF out of business for them to get their s**t together and make a change. Vince is not going to be in a position like that anytime soon.

Yeah I agree, what they are doing now is still getting them a 3.0 or better and Cena is carrying them like crazy. Maybe once Smackdown ratings go under a 1.5 they will do something. This is a different WWE, tag teams and managers have long been dead
So I guess Batista is on twitter now and he's saying that the WWE has been calling him nonstop to come back, but he's not feeling it.

When he gets KOed in his first mma match, I am sure he will crawl back to Vince.

Managers are more of a necessity for those who have no mic skills. But if they needed managers I think they have guys like Cole, Abraham Washington (if they'd bring him back), Matt Striker and some former wrestlers who could step into that role and be effective in the right storyline (aside from Vickie).

Punk heading Nexus could have been better, and even the Original Nexus could have been done better than it was (both storylines started off good but went downhill, the New Nexus faded too fast and were never given a good push). Part of the reason for the Nexus failure IMO is they had too many guys who were too green in the ring to be able to deliver.

The SeS could have been a great stable had they got behind them and really pushed them. Punk had a good thing going with that.

Yep. TNA did the right thing with Angle/Jarrett being the main event (it was a pretty good match)...but the show stealer was AJ & Bully Ray who put on a hell of a match. Those chops AJ kept asking for were legit and brutal.

Gun Money def. British Invasion - Good match.

Morgan def. Steiner - Ok match

Abyss vs Kenrick vs Kaz - Ok match...furthered the storyline.

Crimson def. Joe - Decent match...Joe carried it.

Mickie def. Mangelina - Not bad actually. Mangelina needs to eat a few cheesburgers.

Bully Ray def. AJ - Great match that Ray won but that AJ won in the fans eyes.

a*****e def. Sting - New Champ in a meh match, but creative yet flat finish. (Bischoff f**ked the cadence of the count resulting in Sting getting up before the actual 3 count allowing a*****e to hit a low blow then mic check)

Angle def Jarrett in a solid match. Angle is the #1 contender now.

Destination X in July will feature the 6 sided ring for one night + an Ultimate X match and some former X-Division stars for one night.
