i doubt lee is traded but if he is he's a sacrifice to the contracts of willy and raffy; giants want to trade those guys and no one will take those bad deals. tbh i doubt anyone wants lee at his price. bryce is untouchable

I don't think anyone on this team is untouchable. Even Eldridge. He's looking okay so far but I need to see if he continues to get better. His fielding is okay but I doubt he'll ever be a gold glove 1st baseman. His batting eye is what's surprised me the most. He's actually striking out less than he did in the minors. I don't want to see him traded but I would for the right offer. It would need to be a really good one. It's not like he's the rare 5 tool player.

This season has me out here watching Softball clips. This was cinema tho
Softball player Skylar Wallace sarcastically touches third base to show up the umpire after her third home run, a breakdown pic.twitter.com/RYxqE2NTvN

That actually looked like fun. Bummer that there's no team in CA, however.

If JHL doesn't want to sign an extension now, I would trade him. I think we can trade a couple pieces and still compete next year.
JHL (Has opt out clause, resign now or trade at deadline)
Adames
Chapman
for chap and Willy, need to eat a portion of contract to maximize return
Robbie Ray (expiring)
Consider moving Ramos too,
Get rid of the low IQ high K guys. Chapman is not that but he's washed at the plate.
These guys can go. Add bullpen and other Pitching talent as priority but some young bats too where possible.
Schmitt slides to 3B
Keep RAF at 1B
Eldridge Primary DH
Keep and Resign Arraez - winning player we need in this lineup
that would be a successful deadline

watching last nights game it's just bad approaches in key spots on 0-2; only guy who did anything was lee, adames and jesus fishing out of the zone you gotta think 0-2 stay back and shorten up there's no situational awareness, only real hitters are arraez and sometimes lee. but lee with no foot speed and no pop isn't it. they pinch ran for lee, at least he didn't wave off skip and say he's grandson of the wind.

Lee has no foot speed? Lee has speed but McCray has more and is more of a base stealing threat. That's why they made that switch.

yeah for CF that's what he was brought in to play and they moved him off the position entirely and he gets pinch ran for. so we bought one thing and we got something else. guy has i think 5 bombs and 6 steals he may go a whole season single digits in both, do they have a club for that, like 20-20 and 30-30 what do they call double single? makes you wonder

We have to give Vitello at least another season, firing him after 1 year would be a massive mistake. But we need to see improvement in 2nd half and more so next year. It's been a fail so far but I think giving up would be a mistake.

yeah melvin 3x manager of the year was way better. to be fair to tony when you have bums like raffy and willy, bob was doing good until we traded for the manchild. you can cycle managers all you want it means jack if you have some of the worst contracts in mlb. tony is pretty irrelevant right now, what an odd pairing of a energetic manager with a guy who listens to no one raffy, weird setup. seems tony would work better if we had a bunch of hungry young guys

I agree. And maybe they should consider assembling a bullpen (and pitching staff in general) that can actually hold a lead every once in awhile. This may be the worst bullpen I have ever seen. Can anyone remember a worse Giants bullpen at least in the last 25 years or so?
It makes me wonder what Tony honestly thinks every time he makes a call to the pen. He probably expects every lead to be given up at this point

I mostly just remember they had no closer anymore in 2016, because Romo and Casilla couldn't do it anymore. I can't remember the rest of the pen though
