Buddy Kennedy at DH tonight. Eldridge on the bench. Are they afraid he won't be able to hit Kyle Harrison? Let Bryce play. You can't keep protecting him whenever there's a pitcher that could cause trouble. He has to learn by facing these guys.
Eldridge is the only reason I'll watch. This team is horrific.
So at this point, how close are they to the absolute worst team in the MLB? Everyone with half a brain knew the bullpen was gonna suck, but holy s**t they're worse than I thought they'd be.

Yeah can't say I understand why Buster did so little with the bullpen.

Didn't have enough budget dollars left to spend
Could have used a guy like Kyle Harrison , gee… it just keeps getting more and more tragic the situation we're in

We might surpass 100 losses.

Fans weren't upset when Harrison was traded. He was struggling with the Giants and Boston didn't keep him either. The Brewers got him back on the right track. They seem to have the magic touch with pitchers.
KNBR has been spending a good part of the morning questionong Tony Vitello or if he shoud have even been hired. I was fine with the hire because waht the Giants have been doing in recent years wasn't working. I felt if was worth trying something else. Obviuosly the results havn't been good but I can't put all the blame on Vitello.

Posey made a couple of moves in the off season trying to improve the offense. On paper this team should be alot etter than they're showing on the field. They're hitting okay but just making too many mistakes in th field and on the bases. Players have to take responsibility for stranding so many runners on base. Posey didn't do anything to strengthen the pitching. The bullpen is horrible and the starters haven't been performing well either.

The question is do they continue with Vitello all year and bring him back or not. I think that if they weren't willing to give him a couple years to learn the players and get adjusted to MLB then they shouldn't have signed him. He was hired with no experience and knew very little about his players. He needs a chance to learn just like the young players do. He may eventually be a great manager or he may be a failed experiment. At least he should be given a fair chance with a competitive roster.

I'm so frustrated with this team so far. They may not have the best roster or manager but they sure are underachieving. Nothing can ruin my summer more than watching the team I love struggle again.

I'd take a flyer on Nick Castellanos

The hitting might be underperforming, but this pitching staff is horrendous. Not sure why we expected to run out this staff and get by. Especially after trading away the catcher who was making them look better than they were.

It's not the hitting. They're 5th in the league and 1st in doubles. The problem has been timely hitting. They have the fewest walks of any team by a wide margin. Combine that with stranding too many on base and you see what we have.

The pitching has been so bad that I wasn't comfortable at all with a one run lead last night. I was worried that Logan Webb's first good outing this season was going to go to waste.

At this point I wouldnt be surprised if Webb asked to be traded. This team is not reaching the playoffs anytime soon.

Plus Castellanos is hitting .191, so it's not like he would help us.
