I mean, Jonathan Sanchez has the highest career K/9 in Giants history, so I feel like he learned to threw strikes effectively enough..

I did, the games dragged.
he had great pitches. Horrible tempo. Lot of walks, bad misses. Seemed like a struggle to get 5 innings every start with 100 pitches. Maybe that's ineffectively wild compared to lincecum being effectively wild. sanchez had borderline ace stuff, command though- not his forte
i didn't realize he was a top that list. But maybe if he threw more strikes he could have been like Blake snell instead of just another backend rotation piece.
