then the other side of the list…
bowker, schierholtz, meckler etc

Jonathan Sanchez never learned how to throw strikes, for example. Stuck in the bigs.
Hunter Strickland had hittable high velo stuff, stuck in the bigs.

Not sure what your point is but okay.

I mean, Jonathan Sanchez has the highest career K/9 in Giants history, so I feel like he learned to threw strikes effectively enough..

That feels like it can't be true lol

Tatsuya Imai headed to the Astros, 3-yr $63 mil.

Well at least it wasn't the Dodgers but I'm sure the Giants could have afforded that contract.

If dodgers passed at that price, it means he prolly isn't worth it.

lol do you honestly believe not paying up for bigger name free agents was Posey's choice? He just spent nearly $600 million on 3 players last year. They probably told him we aren't spending big this year.

Of course not but Buster is the one that is going to be sacrificed by ownership
Giants are in Korea. Let's hope they can find some talent there. I doubt they went there just to eat kimchee.

context was Luciano dfa'd by two teams in a month, and a typical lament regarding "development " being messed up by the coaches when a top prospect doesn't boom. few figure it out with more time, even if they own aaa however many times they get sent back. Luciano didn't even do that

but that is maybe a page back

not sure what your point is but okay

You watched him pitch?

I did, the games dragged.

he had great pitches. Horrible tempo. Lot of walks, bad misses. Seemed like a struggle to get 5 innings every start with 100 pitches. Maybe that's ineffectively wild compared to lincecum being effectively wild. sanchez had borderline ace stuff, command though- not his forte

i didn't realize he was a top that list. But maybe if he threw more strikes he could have been like Blake snell instead of just another backend rotation piece.
I heard some team reportedly offered Kyle Tucker $50 million per year. He's a good player but $50 mil? His numbers were likely inflated somewhat because he played in Houston which is an offense friendly park and then Chicago last season.
The Giants just signed another supposedly #1 prospect out of Venezuela. He's a 17 year old SS. Sound familiar?
Couple of days old.

He could be working as an Uber driver soon. Really kind of sad that a player once thought of so highly is bouncing around the league trying to find a home.
