I heard he will not.

I will forever be grateful for the 2010, 2012, 2014 championships but the mediocrity that has followed combined with the Dodgers ownership completely hijacking the sport has made baseball a tough sport to watch.

While I totally agree that a salary cap, a salary floor, and a rule about these ridiculous contract referrals are all needed yesterday, you really are off base on this one.

The 2025 playoffs were pure cinema from start to finish. So much drama. So many excellent games, whether your team was participating or not. I dont know how anyone could have watched this postseason and come away thinking anything other than how great it was.

Baseball viewership improved in this World Series because everyone wanted to see the Dodgers lose. In general, causal Giants fans are apathetic towards the team (and the sport) because we have been mediocre but also because we can't compete with the Dodgers.

It is not really fun watching a team that both has and exercises the biggest spending power in the history of the sport unsurprisingly win the championship for 2 straight years.

Maybe this is just how I feel. But I do live in the Bay Area and the apathy towards baseball is real.

I think Chris Sale could fill the verlander role... I am curious what kind of contract he will command. Only guy I would consider overpaying for would either be maybe Flaherty if hes available or Ranger Suarez. I would also say Framber but the s**t he did with his catcher where he intentionally crossed him up is a big red flag.

Dylan Cease (30, 8.1)
Framber Valdez (32, 7.7)
Ranger Suárez (30, 7.5)
Jack Flaherty (30, 5.9) -- can opt out
Chris Bassitt (37, 4.8)
Michael King (31, 4.7)
Shota Imanaga (32, 4.0)
Zac Gallen (30, 3.9)
Zach Eflin (32, 2.6)
Miles Mikolas (37, 2.2)
Adrian Houser (33, 2.1)
Tyler Mahle (31, 2.1)
Aaron Civale (31, 1.8)
Chris Paddack (30, 1.8)
Brandon Woodruff (33, 1.8)
Michael Soroka (28, 1.5)
Marcus Stroman (35, 1.0)
John Means (33, 0.5) -- club option
Walker Buehler (31, -0.4)

Sale is Gone. Ranger Suarez is my top choice.

I am certainly not trying to tell you how to feel. All I am saying is that there was nothing tough to watch about the playoffs this year. It was a GREAT postseason.

Sounds like one of thise jobs they give to foemer players and coaches. Kind of a retirement job so they can earn a little extra money. I wonder exactly what he's going to do. My guess is he'll just be there as a sounding board fir Vitello if he needs any help. Bochy isn't the type to interfere.

If rather the Giants sign Haruki Murakami to write for them than a lefty 1B/3B.

I'd love to have him but we have Chapman, Eldridge, Devers. Hopefully the Dodgers or Padres don't.
Speaking of Padres.
