I remember when the Warriors signed Steve Kerr to coach in the NBA without any coaching experience at all.

The challenge for him will be .... can he relate to MLB players when he has no hands-on experience playing in the bigs? If players can get over that, he can be successful.

Having Buster at the helm helps a lot with giving him and this front office/organization some credibility... not unlike John Lynch. Buster has the network and relationships to build a solid structure and get people and resources to succeed both on and off the field.

Now Vitello just has to go out and prove it. I like the hire, his track record is impressive. Much more excited and optimistic about this than when we hired Sleepy Bob Melvin.
Bro is going to get ejected on opening day lol.

Some fire is what the Giants could use. "I want some butts!!!"

Like the hire & hoping for the best (Giants now have even more connections w/ Vols baseball).

so refreshing for Giants fans, feels like we're starting a new and exciting chapter
He knew

Very excited about this!
dude looks like he could play for us lol
I don't have a problem with hiring a guy that's never played in the big leagues. We see it a lot in football and basketball. Walsh, Belichick, Parcels, and most other great coaches never played in thr NFL. Baseball is pretty much the same in college and pro. Some rule differences but the game still comes down to hitting, pitching and defense. If Vitello is a good people person and has a feel for when to change pitchers he'll do fine.

Apparently before Vitello took over the Vols, that team was playing .500 ball. Sounds familiar lol.
I wonder if Drew Gilbert is gonna chew on Vitello's sleeve in the dugout when something exciting happens?

I don't care. I'd rather give him a shot than some retread that's been fired from another team or someone that's been in the Giants system and will continue with the same philosophy. Too many years of mediocre teams. Time to try something different.

Not sure, but we know who is going to be first out of the dugout whenever Drew hits a walkoff homerun.

I don't care either but it makes your Walsh, Belichek, Parcels worthless as they coached in the nfl for years before becoming a head coach.
