I want to see him work on his swing and become a really good contact hitter. Stay away from that uppercut swing. He's not a HR hitter. It seems like wheneve rhe goes into a slump it's aftewr he hits that occasional HR. Yankee stadium ruined him for a month. Then they can move him to the leadoff spot. Get on base in front of Devers and Adames. He needs to work on his base stealing as well. He has the speed but his success rate isn't great.

Or maybe you read why he has that slump. They said he tried moving up in the box and he went into a slump. Was hitting .325 before doing it. So he went back to his normal stance and immediately started hitting again. And basically hit .300 the rest of the way. Sounds like he has no problem with being a contact hitter.

He finished the last 2 months very well. If he can hit like that through most of the year then he can be a good leadoff hitter. Hopefully the new manger won't continue to bat him 6th or 7th like Melvin did. I know Ramos was the leading hitter on the team for most of the year but his base running mistakes and SOs made him a poor leadoff hitter. He and Lee should swap positions in the order.
They are interviewing Kurt Suzuki apparently.

If they hire Suzuki as manager then maybe they can sign a couple pitchers from Japan named Honda and Kawasaki.

Catchers often make good managers because they have a good feel for handling the pitching staff. Many ofd them have fairly long careers which gives them added experience in the majors. Most are usually low key as well. Those traits make them good at handling a lot of different personalities.
If it comes down to Hundley or Suzuki....any preferences? Their player stats are quite similar, not that it matters. I remember when Vogt was on the Giants, he just oozed the traits of a manager. What about these two?

I'm good with either one but they better hire a great coaching staff.

we know why catchers are often picked for manager positions... that is nothing new.

Melvin was okay at Oakland and in San Diego. Maybe he's just burned out. Bochy had some gret years in SF and some not so great. He had one in Texas. Not so good this year.
Pavlovic believes Hundley is the favorite to land the job.
If it is Nick Hundley, would that be a good choice? Would be his first time as a Manager. He was on the Giants some years back...had a pretty long MLB career.

Buster Posey back in Spring 2019: "Nick is one of my all-time favorite teammates and one of my best friends."

There is no way to tell... feels a little bit like a comfort hire for Posey. But, he knows ball and what he's looking for... just have to trust it at this point. I like the idea idea of a younger manager with a solid roster like this. Posey just needs to add some pitching pieces.

I wonder if Ramos gets traded this offseason? Trade him for some pitching.

Was wondering the same about Ramos. If so, wondering what he could bring back in return. It's tough w/ him as he's still on the younger side (26), came up and developed through the Giants' system, and has become a pretty good offensive player. Hate his defense, though. Not sure what his long-term position is but if last season was any indication, it sure isn't LF.
