Wasn't b***hing about it, just rolling my eyes. Everyone in the league knows she was a PR hire, and this was a PR interview. They're not going to see this on a resume and think she was in serious contention for a ML manager job. The Giants just wanted the headline of being the first to interview a woman for that job, just like "first to coach on field."
If she wants to head down and start managing in the independent league or fall instructional and work her way up the ranks by putting in the time and earning it, thats awesome.
Enough with the misogyny
What misogyny? The truth? What has she done to seriously earn an interview to manage a Major League team? Call it a favor, or call it a stunt, but regardless she isn't qualified, and it has nothing to do with gender.
one may say that an assistant coach is more worthy than a catcher who just retired
LOL one may also say a catcher who played in the Majors for 11 years, was the team captain for 11 years, and ran the pitching staff for 11 years with 3 WS titles seems a tad more qualified to manage than a coach with 4 years experience in an undefined role who hits infield practice with a fungo bat.
